Whats memorial day?

Originally a day to mourn our war dead. It's become just another day to go on a picnic...., or watch the Boob tube (television). Just one of many of our holiday's we are losing the meaning of.

Memorial Day is a day set aside for Americans to remember their war dead. It is one of those American holidays that has been made into an excuse for a three day weekend. The modern observance takes place on the last Monday in May. The traditional day of observance was May 30.
