Happy Birthday KT!

Today our big girl turns 32.  She is really happy as to her, that's the perfect age--old enough to have some life experience and be taken seriously, young enough to still be hip and hot and energetic.  I never really thought about any particular age that way--neither looking forward to one nor dreading one, for that matter.  But my life was a bit different than hers--by the time I was 32 I had a 6 and a 4 year old, which means KT was in kindergarten and JLO was home with me until she started preschool that September.  KT is a career woman with a husband but no kids.  Different.  The best part though, is we are both happy with our choices.

In 2 months exactly, JLO will turn 30.  If all goes according to schedule, she will be in the first days of motherhood, trying to figure out what that means and how she'll handle it.  I don't know how she feels, but for me this pregnancy has flown by.  Mine--not so much, but hers has been a blink and it's almost over.  I finally sat down and whipped out 3 hooded towels and 3 bath mitts for this child.  Next will be 4 bibs.  I'm hoping to make one more thing but I'm not sure yet--will have to do some looking around first.    I am going to tell JLO that every time she uses one of the things I made for the baby, she has to tell the baby that its gramma, who loves it dearly, made it for him/her.  I am determined that this child will know that I exist, if not who I am.

I am looking forward to getting up there and seeing the kids and my dear, dear friend.   My life here is mostly one of passing time, something I'm not very good at and I find it gets me in trouble when I have too much time to myself.  But I also hate being busy with stupid things.  Dilemma!
