Problem uploading mods in TA

Hi, this has probably been covered before but I know you guys are having problems with the forum search and I've turned up no results.

Anyways, I recently had to upgrade my operating system and reinstalled Galciv2 and all the expansions, with all of their updates. I tried to load up a new game of TA using some of the custom mods and found that I couldn't load up the mods from the directory. Although the default mod appeared to be there, my other mod produced a blank white line across the GUI. I tried various things, re-entering the data and so on, with no joy and then did a reinstall of TA. Everything looked fine at first glance when I went in to see if the option to apply and change mods was working until I realised that although the mods directory appeared to point to the correct place (Galciv2, TA, Mods and pointed to the default mod) when I went into the TA directory within GalCiv, there was no mod directory there! the blanked out white spacing appeared when I created a mod directory within the TA directory.

Is this I created a custom directory for the Gal Civ install and is there a solution to this as playing it without all the mods like Kryo's hull mod is unbearable!""£$"£$!!!

Cheers

Brendan

Sadly this is a known issue that we all must endure until they fix the dxpack in question.

The string function for these lines puts them up blank BUT i assure you, everything is where it should and properly active. The only reference we get to make sure we select the actual Mod we want is to look at the side panel text for verification.

Clicking on 'empty' lines still work.

Sorry you had to go through some re-installing process but you really didn't have to. What this game needs though when freshly setup is a *Default* folder in the MODS that we must create from scratch and reboot before using for automatic 'blank' directories creation by the code itself.

Either SD puts a readme file to explain the hows & the whys (aside from fixing IT) in their next upgrade or they'll be a lot of players caught in useless acrobatics with unknown 'buggy' facts.

Has there been any kind of an update on the mod directory bug? I've been monkeying around with loading mods for a couple days now, and no matter what I do , it seems borked - I'm not even sure if I'm loading everything properly, or installing it into the proper directory - near as I can tell I should be able to just extract the base folder of <modname> to the default directory in the mods folder of Twilight, right? and then when I boot up el-game-o, just go to option, make sure allow mods button is checked and zing - all the applicable mods (Ship parts, etc.) should load without any further interaction?

Or is there a step I am missing where I should select KHSM, Dudemeisters extra nosering's mod, etc. etc. before I even start the game?
