I have a bit of a problem, new laptop has a widescreen and all the menus will not show? in game everything works but when you first start the game you cant even start a game without extremly messing with the setting ( the once you goto full screen problem returns....) please

Is 1024 x 600 the native resolution of your laptop screen?

If not, you might try setting it to that.

Also, widescreens sometimes need to have the ratio adjusted. I have a 24" widescreen and had to set mine to something like 3 to 1. This tells the graphice drivers it is using a widescreen and needs to adjust the width and hight ratio to fit everything on the screen.

yes the game plays fine on it other then not see the buttens

 

1024 x 600 is as high as can go and im set to auto ratio on the device is there a setting in the game as well?

Is there a "virtual display" mode?

A function (primarily) found on older notebooks to compensate for their lack of high resolution displays. It put a "virtual" display at (say, 1024x768) while only showing 1024x600. If you moved your mouse cursor over to the edge of the screen, however, it would scroll down, sort of like an RTS (without the zoom to cursor function).

If you can't get the resolution that you want, I suggest you go to windows mode and then resize to the size you wanted

im having the same issue.  i also tried forcing the screen res in the user settings file.  it didnt help.  window mode doesnt help either.  so far the only answer i can see is that the app cannot scale below 768 px hieghts.
