Downloading patches problem - please help!

So i bought sins around when it first came out, thought it was a great game but the AI needed some work and the factions were a bit off balance, so i decided to un-install it and wait untill some good patches came out and possible some expansions b4 i would come back out to the galatic warfare front.

Needless to say that has all come true now, so i decided to re-install me game and patch it using this fancy new impulse thingee, but after all the patces get put onto me game, it gets stuck saying "Verifying Downloads" for hours and never finishes... which is quite fusterating cause i want to play quite bad. Thinking it was being impatient i left it saying "Verifying Downloads" overnight to see if it was just a matter of time.. but come this morning it is still saying it, nothing has changed.

So i come to you guys, any ideas on what may be wrong?

My game is Version 1.0 and i got it via a disk (not digital download)

You may have something interfering with the download like antivirus/antispyware/firewall software. I would suggest adding an exclusion for Impulse.exe within your protection software if you have any installed. Also, try closing Impulse, re-open it, and once it signs in, click the blue Stardock orb in the upper left corner and then click 'Preferences'. Click the 'Reset Data' button and then try the download again.
