Cant unpin planets?

A planet remains pinned as long as anything in its grav well is pinned. If you've got starbases on those, they are auto-pinned so undoing that should get the planet off it.

I've had it happen as well, though I don't have any screenshots or anything.

I pinned a planet (a border planet) then unpinned it when I had taken the next in line. (Gaian Crescent, I was taking the Terran Planets while skirmishing with the AI). It refused to unpin. I even scuttled everything in the system and it was still stuck there.

So...I'll try to recreate the problem and go from there I suppose.

You can unpin everything by hitting CTRL and `     The  `  key is to the left of the 12345 etc keys on the keyboard.   This will unpin everything in the empire tree.

In Entrenchment, Starbases are automatically pinned, which drives me nuts because on a big map with many starbases your empire tree gets so cluttered you can't find anything.   This was the only way I could deal with it.

i agree, there should be a way to unpin starbases

there was a map, i forget the name, FULL of wormholes, so, to make my trade network more effecient (and for defense) i put starbases in every wormhole, needless to say my empire tree was mighty cluttered by the middle of the game, let alone the end

You can unpin starbases by selecting the starbase and pushing the unpin button.

True, I was just unpinning everything...good point.  It would be great to get an interface option later so starbases aren't automatically pinned.

remind me again, what is the pin tool?

It is that neat thing that allows you to see units in the Empire Tree.  There is a nifty Tutorial for it.
