Teleport Null Points

Parts of the terrain that exert a radius within which teleportation does not function.

Some variants:

-players cannot teleport into an area under the radial influence of such a point

-players cannot teleport out of an area under the influence of such a point

 

Abilities that are not pure teleportation i.e. Erebus` Bat Swarm remain unaffected. They are not pure energy-based abilities.

I believe this has tremendous potential for new maps.

Very interesting idea.  Other areas of maps that have different gameplay-affecting properties could be cool as well.

Would be neater as something like the vision wards which you buy and set on the ground.  But it'd be kind of like a must-have item. :x

I would rather the player *not* control such mechanics - I think these are best left to the map, as terrain features that must be contended with. Not therefore dependant upon the Gold supply, and therefore victory momentum.

The best variant (and simplest) of this feature would probably be a radius that cancels teleportation completely: neither teleportation into nor teleportation out of its radius is possible.

I really like this idea. To extend on it you could add it as an option that fortresses act as teleport nullifiers. That way they could still be destroyed.

Maybe some kind of Totem from one of the remaining Gods in the pantheon that wishes to really put participants to the test. When you see it, Abandon All Phasing Yee Who Enter Here...
