In-game video

Any ideas how to record high-quality, full screen, in-game video? AlexMorgan's dreams do this, and do it well, but I wanted to take a few more scenes as my desktop and I'm having an extremely hard time recording things from Far Cry 2.

If you have any suggestions at all that might help me I'd gladly appreciate them.

Here's a link to AlexMorgan's gallery with all of his very awesome in-game dreams for a better idea at what I'm referencing.

Also, programs such as Fraps which record in-game video themselves seem defficient because they lower framerates dramatically and spit out extremely large and difficult to edit video files. I'd like to avoid things like Fraps if at all possible...

Thanks!

most FPS games have built in commands to record a series of screenshots,do the google thing8C

assuming you want to record scenery(for wallpaper) fraps should work fine because of the small amount of movement.

I've looked for some kind of recording option for Far Cry 2, but alas the only thing I've found is some inadequate movie-making thing which only runs in the benchmarking movie viewing thing that comes with the game. A series of screenies might be the solution to my problem because I know that in Source-based games (HL2, etc) there's ways to do this and get extremely high-quality frames with no lag. Converting them to video thereafter is relatively easy, but I cannot find this option for Far Cry 2, unfortunately.

If anyone knows of anything like this, the sequenced screenshot method would probably be ideal and if you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate that quite a lot |-)
