[Suggestion] Ganking

Something that makes Dota very appealing is the ability to surprise your opponent and use your cunning wits to surprise attack the opposite team unexpected. This was a great way to promote teamwork and allow the use of synergy between the heros and making different skills from different characters work together. While I am definately looking foward to Demigod I would like to suggest the use of some kind of mechanic that takes this further? The fog of war plays a huge role in Dota so from the videos I've seen, the vision is pretty widespread and the way the arenas are laid out, the fog won't play a major role in surprise attacks. Is there any kind of "Ganking" to look foward to in Demigod? What kind of skills can be used together to create synergy between the Assasins or Generals? I'm still new to all of this so if anyone could fill me in on any of this I would appreciate it. Thanks guys.

There is to a degree some ganking, but its definately not as common/easy to pull off as in DotA. On prison it is often possible to do this, as long as you stay out of the enemies reinforcements vision range, then its definately possible. Ive done it quite a few times before and have been ganked as well. But it definately plays a smaller part in Demigod than in DotA.

Oh there are plently of skills. UB's foul graps with Rook's hammer slam is a nice example. You get the UB to hold your opponent while as Rook you initiate a Hammer Slam (this can also be done with other Demigods who have stuns). Also generals have moves like Shield, Bramble (gives your ally a shield that can absorb damage), life leech aura (your allies around you get life leech), penitence etc. etc. Not really sure if that counts as synergy between characters - does it?

currently this would be having 3x+ reguluses on a single team on teamspeak coordinating snipes ^.^

 

But once they balance out that cheeze it'll prolly be something like a tb/rook freeze hammer slam combo or similar.

 

Basically any stun/nuke combo == ganking in demigod. However unlike many games we also have a defence or two in the form of QOT's barrier and the Oak's shield spells. (Among others).

Yes it does, you counterbalance a weakness of a character with an another.

And to talk of Dota, Demigod is a really different game, they have some common bases, but really go in a different direction.

Hopefully stuns and snares will be nerfed so that the stun/nuke combo and perma-snaring (so people have no chance of running away or even moving around much in battle) are no longer so easy to accomplish and such a huge part of the game.
