Jarasul Evacuator's "Drain Planet" ability visuals not working properly?

i just finished this multiplayer game and whilst i was draining this asteroid i noticed the visuals of the ability not working properly,

heres 2 pictures that show whats happening

i've also tried this on a planet, theres jsut a small vortex seen leaving the planet,  you dont see the end of the tube sucking stuff in...

anyone else having the same thing??

i've been having this visual bug for a while, but i finaly got some time to actualy make a screenshot out of it so for me.. this isnt a one-time event

i've been trying to find an earlier topic, as im sure this problem was mentioned in the past and was fixed...

also when looking at the drain planet visuals it apears much to large... the vortex exits ( or begins)  on the ship's nose  but stretches out to far,  even compared to anything non-asteroid

I don't konw it the far end is supposed to be on the surface of the planet or through it.

y on pic # 2 where the vortex spreads out it should be hitting the planet,  but its all the way on the other side of the planet

it's been that way for a while.  I've never seen it different.

I think that no one really noticed it b4 (the animation is obscured when using it on a planet)

I think that happens when you use the ability and the ship isn't at its max range. The particle effect is a certain, fixed length, so if the ship is too close, the big end ends up on the other side of the asteroid (or inside of a planet). For a "solution" you can have the Evacuator sit out of range for Planet Drain when you use it, then it will use the ability as far away from the planet as possible, and the big end will end up on the surface of the planet/asteroid.

i'll have to try that out first tough...i didnt pay any attention to the abilties range

i usually autocast it... shouldnt the range for the ability then be equil to its bombing range? 

strange anyways since vasari can get 12% increase in bombing range...

I think that with the 12% increase the ranges are about equal, but don't quote me on that.

The 12% increase in range only affects bombardment weapons (the actual red beams), not ability ranges.

thats what i meant..

if the abilities range would be identical to bombing range, as soon as you got that technology it wouldnt be able to cast it anymore,  thus the reason why the ability has a longer range then maximum bombardment range

and (i guess) the reason why the visual effects dont work properly with autocast during a bombardment, becuase it is casting inside it's maximum range... wich causes the ability visuals to shift through the planet..

i'll try to see if casting on it's maximum casting range will show correct visuals, only due to lack of time.. that wont be for naother day...
