which version of 3dmark? 2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,vantage?

they all calulate the score differently, and require different features in windows

personally i think comparing 3Dmark scores is a bit like a pissing contest because they really bear no relevance on the type of system you have. If your computer does what you want it to do then it's perfect. A lot of people want the latest and greatest system and then use it for stuff all... who needs a dual core, 10Gb RAM and expensive video card if all you do is watch the occasional DVD or play solitaire. Certainly it's not needed if you surf the net, check your email and do a little bit of photo editing. If your a hard core gamer you can get the same performance out of a lower priced computer as you can with a high end monster just by the simple fix of lowering your screen resolution a couple of notches. (after all who needs to see the explosions and body parts in full graphics clarity when your concentrating on shooting the bad guy firing at you). It's nice to have the best but in the real world not a lot of people can afford or really need it. :)

Exactly.

I prefer stability to being told by some statistical analysis that system is either outdated or ranking so low it's obvious better gears should be considered. I'll decide when & then.

I know when i bought it, what the specifications are, which components fit the multi-tasking or softwares installed, thank you.

3dMarkVantage Benchmark

Total Score:  3277

GPU Score: 3234

CPU Score: 4380

Yeah, I know I need a new MB,CPU, and more RAM to go with that GPU.  When Windows 7 comes I'll build for a QUAD CPU with at least 12 Gig RAM, and 64 bit OS.
