[SUGGESTION] On Dynamic Items...

... compromise, if necessary...

Include an option in game setup to Enable Dynamic/Random Items in shops and artifact shops. That way, everyone who wants to play the same damn formulaic purchasing game can do so time and time again, while others can have a varied and fun experience beyond the 30th or so contest.

An idea.

Enable items that remove skill from gameplay option? :P

Your suggestion is extremely vague.  What kind of items are you talking about?  I think it's obvious you're being totally sarcastic and are instead suggesting that those items simply be added to the base game.  If you're doing that, why don't you actually throw out some more specific ideas / guidelines for these kinds of items?

I agree that the purchasing "game" at the moment seems rather formulaic and will probably be more or less the same.  But how do you add items that will change that without undermining competition (ideally adding to it) and without adding any items which are blatantly OP'd (in which case people would always seek to buy those items anyway).

Allow the game setup toggle of randomly selected Items available for purchase, at all shops. Items would be chosen completely at random from an Item archive/database. Different Items might be in the shops therefore each time you play.

Sorry if that wasn`t too clear in my original post.

Oh okay, now I understand what you're saying.  So you make which items are available randomized, so every game the selection is different.

I like that idea, although I don't think it should be a toggled option.  I think different items should be available on different maps (selection can be catered to the map for balance purposes etc.).  The only problem is currently there aren't nearly enough items available for varying selections on different maps to be noticeable.  Once they add more items with characteristics that are different enough to be noticeable, this idea would be great to implement.

I think the toggled (non-standard) option would be to allow all items.  For competitive play certain items should be limited to certain maps.  That'll force players to use different item builds in different situations.  It'll also allow more interesting items to be made, some even designed specifically for one map.

Just having them be randomized and non map-specific could still be interesting, too.

I want to throw it out there that the best players don't use cookie cutter builds.  I don't claim to be a great player, but from reading things on the forums, you gather that the best of the best vary their builds from match to match depending on what happens.  It isn't the "same damn formulaic purchasing game".  People vary their builds depending on what happens.  If you don't change things up according to what's going on, then its a problem with your gameplay style opposed to the game itself.

Anyway, I think random items is a good option.  Keep it that way (as an option, not a standard) and everyone is happy.

I inveigh against predictable possibility there...
