The problem with sleeping less is that they were able to stabilize someone who wouldn't sleep more than 2 hours a day (not as part of an experiment, but a genuine sufferer of chronic insomnia) and he lived months with the condition. Sadly, when he returned to insomnia and they attempted to treat it, his body reacted violently to the treatment and he passed away.
You need sleep. If you want to be more productive, look into this and adjust yourself accordingly.
