Running the game off a Flashdrive?

Just recently on campus while i was working up a last minute paper, i couldnt help but notice several students near me playing various PC games such as WoW or Warcraft and etc. Note these computers have been programmed to prevent downloading of any kind and it was clear they were running those games off their 8GB flashdrives. I had always thought this was not possible but apparently there is a way. Now not being as tech savy than most people, i was wondering is it possible to get Sins to run off a flash drive?

It actually is no different than running it off a hard drive. Yes it is possible, and quite simple. Just copy your sins files onto the flash drive. However, you may want to turn the settings down, since the computer you may plug into likely will not have a decent video card, if it has anything more than onboard video at all. This is why older games with tiny graphics requirements are often used (such as Warcraft or WoW)

As sins stores the settings in the user appdata folder on the local machine, it'll revert to defaults each time to take it to a new place, and the settings will only be stored on that machine. But it should run.

No, it isn't :( Blame mostly Microsoft since it pretty much forces that in the Games for Windows program.

In the future, Stardock games will migrate to using ImpulseReactor where preferences will be stored virtually too so you'll have options.

Thanks, ill give it a try next time i get a chance. I certainly hope the campus computers can handle the game graphic wise.

Will that effect Games for Windows certification, or does it just bypass it totally due to not storing the data locally?

Also, what happens if I am not connected to the Internet?
