Can't use Metaverse - No "submit" button

I finally finished a game, and I can't submit my score. The submit button doesn't even show up when I win the game. I am connected at the time. Help!

So you don't get the submit dialog at all? It just returns you to the main menu after the game is over?

Yes, it just dumps me back to the main menu.

I have DSL up. It sounds like you're doing something fancy to try and tell if the network is up, and it fails on a lot of systems. Why not simply present the the submit option and let Windows try to deliver the packet one way or another?

I get this problem somewhat intermittently. Sometimes the DSL will for the lack of a better phrase "go to sleep", and it takes it a bit to "wake up". The problem here is that it takes a little too long for GalCiv's tastes. I've found that if before the game ends or maybe during the game summary screen, I can alt-tab over to another window, fire IE, reference GalCiv.com to wake up the connection. When I alt-tab back and go through, the submit screen is there.

Worth a try.

On a hunch, I decided to try using my dial-up modem instead and then ending a game. Bingo, the submit screen for Metaverse came up! See, this is the problem... GalCiv's code is trying to detect if there's a network up and failing miserably. It shouldn't even try; it should just let Windows send the packets as it sees fit.
