SkinStudio 6 - Adjusting content margins?

How do I set the margins for content (such as the text and icons) in SkinStudio 6? As you can see, the default settings are an eye sore.

In the 'text' margin section. Although that looks more like u may need to check your image sizes first.

I'm assuming you're talking about the text options for "menu item"? I've tried various settings and it won't budge the content one bit. What do you mean by checking my image sizes first? I'm getting the idea that I can't have a 360 drop shadow around the background like I have in the first picture.

That is correct some parts of the menu items are located a specific distance from the edge

 

However in your shot of SKS6 those settings should be under menu item not the menu background but from the shot I cant tell which one you are on

Exactly.. there is very little play for dropshadow in this area if you want standard sized menus and not have your icons and txt hanging off. Usually I limit myself to 2 pixels of shadow to keep as much actual menu space as possible.
