[IDEA] Team buys Citadel Upgrades

Any team member can go to the citadel, select an ability, and click a button (or however you want to set it up) to "team buy". When this happens, each member is prompted with a little screen that says "Would you like to spend 500 gold for [insert upgrade name here]?" That way, it splits it for all the team members, so people dont have to spend all of their gold on a citadel upgrade.

Sure, when you play with your friends, you can split it up - but even then it is difficult because some cost 1200.. then 5000.. seems a tad silly.

i think this idea is great :D maybe to get this message, a citadel upgrade must be researched before hand, or just have it from the get go, but sounds good to me, a problem shared n all that.  k1

Yeah, I would like to see this employed. That way you can share the costs, and you can choose to deny if you want too. Just makes it easier all around and more streamlined.

Great idea, I'd recommend allowing it to go through even with 0 help.  Make it so the player needs 1200g in 'inventory' to be able to purchase the 1200 gold upgrade.  Then have it put up pop'ups on everyone's screen.  Then anyone who agrees throws in their share, and the original purchaser pays the remainder. So technically they could all say no, and he pays the full price.

The pop-up window could have two options

1. Pay your share (for 3 players, its 1/3.. 5 players its 1/5) or all your gold, if you have less than the share price

2. Don't contribute

I suggested this a while ago, but it was never implemented. I agree though, I think it would be a great idea.

I like the current system

This was suggested back in beta 2 with anumber of people interested in this as an option.  I don't know what ever happened to that discussion, but needless to say they have not implemented.  I am sure we will see more fixes to come, let them know what needs to be added/fixed.

Or even if you just go back to the citadel and dump a certain amount on an upgrade, which doesnt get bought til it's fully paid.

So I go back, pay 300g of a 1200g upgrade. Then 5min later me mate Dangerous Dave goes back and puts 900g, completing the purchase...

Nice idea.

I'd be worried about people spamming it and annoying you with the pop up mid fight.  Other than that, it sounds good.

THIS. All the advantages of the OP's solution but without the pop-up spam.

I like this idea... but no pop-ups.

In some ways I disagree with this idea.  If you make it too easy for everyone to get upgrades.. All teams will have all upgrades most all the time.  Its a strategy and takes teamwork to help your team and upgrade the citadel.  That is what you've chosen to do in the match and its going to cost you time and money.  Another team may skip that and be more for lving fast as he can.  If it takes no time to upgrade your citadel then both teams would very quickly have the same citadel upgrades giving you no real advantage.   It lessens the Variables that can happen in a match.

Mostly agreed

I know that the sharing Idea looks good for random public games, but as people get more organized and skillful, the question about who saves the money to upgrade what (and when) will divide the good teams, and ones that need to improve. The way suggested is making it too simple.
