Need help modding

Hi there

I'm trying to mod some files and i understand how to do it but what i'm having trouble with is saving it into the mod folder and using it. Does the mod have to be saved as a .xml file? if so how do you save it to be an .xml? or what program should be used when modding?? And does any other files have to be saved with the modded file?

I am modding files for DA v2.01

It DOES have to be saved as an XML, but any word processor can open and save them. I for one always use notepad b/c it does not add hidden characters that can screw up the mod. Just remember that you cannot save as an XML, so you need to move the files BEFORE editing them to avoid overwriting anything.

Your installed DA folder:\MOD\NAME of your MOD\data..+gfx..+etc (here)

Go to the options screen, GAME Tabs, second column, click the "Use Mods" box, Change (button) the current mods directory to yours.

Exit when the popup ask you to.

Reload the game... whatever files were modified and saved into your MOD folder will be used to replace defaults.
