Playing a game in 1.04.058 - Will it work in .059?

Normally I just abandon older games when an update is available - but this is the first time I am winning on Genius. God knows when that will happen again!
Anyone started a game in 1.04.058 and then upgrade to .059? Is it safe or should I finish this game first? Haven't bothered with trade goods in this game apart from Dip and Grav Accelerators so I am assuming I should just leave it until I have finished? thanks.
