i get updates using stardock central. the latest incremental changes can be gotten instantly this way. avaliable in the downloads section.

OR you can wait till they come out in nice packages every few weeks. i think those would be in the downloads too?

version number: not sure. there might be a version number somewhere in the main screen when you are playing a game. when you hit escape...

You'll definitely want Stardock Central if you dont want to wait on a standalone to patch up. It's really not that bad of an application, and it gives you a few other toys to play with

To see your version number, click into the options menu and you should see the Major version number up top.

Barring that, the other way is to go to stardock central, click on drengin.net tab, click on Galactic Civilizations on the list, and click the history link. The history will show you your games version history, and thus the full version number
