I've had a problem with my online username ever since the beta. I'll log on with my Impulse username, but in Demigod I will be logged in with my real name. I've tried changing my Impulse username several times, but it still hasn't fixed the problem.
The database guys have set up a job to copy the nick changes over, so it should pick up your current one within 24 hours if you change it now.
Does that mean those who already have nicknames in Impulse will be 'ported' over to show up as our nick instead of account?
Well i always use the same logon name for everything, because i can usually create an in game tag to use, steam doesnt force me to use my steam logon in all my games.
So i went and changed in from sellews to Monkeyspunk00 (old inside joke with friends, gross i know). But for some reason when i login to demigod's online play and join a game i still show up as sellews! Any idea when it's going to be fixed or am i just hosed? btw, i made the change tuesday morning so it's been more than 24 hours.
After I changed my name yesterday I checked back on Demigod in the afternoon, and instead of my name I was "Logged in as ". When I checked back in just now, it had gone back to my real name. I will try switching it again.
I asked kirk to look at it to make sure it was porting names over last night, I'll have to see if he got to it when he gets in this morning.
The web guys are planning to add options for users to add/rename their Demigod aliases once things settle down though, so this is only a temporary measure.
is this job still running every 24h or was this a one time thing? because im having the same issue
Er, where exactly do you add in a nick name? I did add in a gamer tag, and I'm guessing now that that is not correct, as I still show as my username rather than gamer tag.
