Peace and Attack Treaties need Minimum Time Limits

Peace and Attack Treaties need Minimum Time Limits

One thing the Diplomacy Section really needs is Duration of Treaties. I just gave a star system to the Altarians to declare war on the Torians - and 5 turns later they made peace! Within the parameters of the game as it stands that's perfectly ok as they don't promise a specific time - but it makes treaties and tributes basically meaningless. If an AI demands a tribute not to attack me it's tantamount to saying 'I won't attack you THIS month". If I pay an AI to attack another all I know is they will attack for one month.
One thing I would like to see in a future update is Attack/Peace for X months. With the payment increasing linearly (or even exponentially) with the duration.
I haven't seen anyone raise this before so maybe I missed threads or no-one else sees it as an issue. Anyone else agree/disagree?

Not really - Influence points can be just as material as BCs. They may be proxied over to another race, but can be withdrawn in the real world - especially when a treaty is broken.

As I said, they're different in nature, but, in game terms, functionally similar.
