Just paid for demigod, cant register it now in impulse.

every time i try submitting the serial number (correctly entered, copied and pasted from the receipt page) and the correct email address it pops up an error message :

 

Product Registration Failed: The email address or serial number you entered is invalid. Check to make sure that you have entered the correct information. (ref: 204)

 

this is the 1st time i have used impulse, so far even steams 1st release was more reliable. if there is no solution to this then i guess i will be asking for a refund.

Hi,

I heard on the Demigod chat channels that noone has been able to get a game due to the servers being down. I don't know if it is related at all to the servers that deal with you registering. Just hold on a bit longer and contact customer support :)

the servers are down. 3 of my friends bought the game today and cannot register it, i suspect its the server issue.

i clicked buy game on the website, followed instructions through, payed with paypal, reciept page said to install impulse to download the game.

 

the main reason i bought this is due to their anti DRM policies, however so far impulse has been a complete pain in the ass, it even thinks i should have IE 7 installed, which is a pathetic requirement indicating lazy ass programming.

Well, IE7 is a requirement for impulse (especially if you want to access to forums or to the strore), but you should be able to install it. BTW, is it really lazy ass programming not to want to develop a new browser?

With which e-mail have you tried to login into Impulse? The one associated with your forum account, the one used on Stardock store, or the one associated with your paypal account?

If you used paypal, you will need to put your paypal email in the registration box when adding it to your impulse account. If that still does not work, please contact [email protected].

ok thats absolutely effing stupid!!

 

if i wanted it registered to my personal email that i use with paypal i would have provided that, but i didnt, i provided an impulse email so that if i started getting spam through it i could block it off easily.

 

whats the effing point of asking for an email if your then just gonna use a different address depending on method of payment?

That is a good question. A warning about this behavior when using paypal should be displayed. That way, you should have known that you must gift it to your impulse e-mail address if your paypal address is different.

I have registred the game, but I cannot log in (sort of "my fault" since I have used another e-mail) and the proposed solution did not work.

When do you think we can get some help from the support?

You are 100% right, it looks plane stupid and dangerous, if I knew I have this problem I would not buy the game, although the game itself is great.

For this you can check a log file. For me it says registration is incorrect, which I think is "choose some other login youmay have mentioned to us", but may be for you it is something different.

 

It sucks to be left behind because of some strange problem.
