metaverse submission question

I try to submit a metaverse score and it drops me to the desktop. I check metaverse and only see the first game I did up there. How can I tell immediately if I got a successful save or not? I wish I knew if my score actually went through successfully.

"I try to submit a metaverse score and it drops me to the desktop."

The game shouldn't throw you out. Mine just pauses for about 10-15 seconds and then takes me back to the main menu, with the score appearing in the Metaverse by the time I alt-tab and refresh the browser window that's been open to galciv.com for the last few days. :)

If it's throwing you out on submission, you probably have a problem. Do you have a firewall or anything that might be blocking it?

Thanks for the quick reply. No I don't run a firewall on my computer. I turned that feature on WinXP off because it caused problems with AIM when I was sending a file to a friend of mine.

I'm going to patch the game and see if that helps. At least I know something isn't completely right. Thanks again for the quick reply.

I was just hoping to get my score submitted since I actually won a tech victory against the AI on a huge galaxy (dont have the nerve to try gigantic yet)

Brad, if you see this and can give me pointers on what I should look out for aside from patching to 1.02, I'm all ears. (waiting for this 80+ meg download to come down)

If that's referring to the patch, you're having SD Central issues, like many other people. The patch is ~1MB big. 80+MB would be the core game install...
