Repeated Crashes

I just downloaded Demigod from Impluse and (excited) tried to play the game. Every time I start a game the graphics bug out and I get tons of artifacts then the game crashes. Ususally this happens between 10 seconds and a minute after I start the game. I've updated my drivers and done all the usual stuff including trying the various fixes and tricks on various forums. Nothing has worked. I was very excited about Demigod and have been looking forward to it for a while, from what I can see there's a good game in there it's just that I can't actually play it.

I'm running vista 64 on a Q6700 2.66ghz with an ATI 4870 graphics card (I noticed in the Read Me that there is apparantly an issue with these cards) and 4 gigs of ram. I suppose I've got no choice but to wait for a patch but this has really lowered my opinion of both Stardock and Gas Powered Games as well as reminding me of the fundemental problem with PC games: Sometimes they just don't work.

Some feed back or word from the developers that they're at least aware of this problem (I don't seem to be the only one getting this by any means) would go a long way towards reassuring me about the game that I've bought and justifying my faith in this company.

Same problem here. Vista 64 with a GTX 260, latest drivers, latest BIOS. After a couple minutes, it goes into a hard crash where solid colors start flashing on the monitor. The only solution is to power cycle the system -- everything else is totally unresponsive. The issue seems to have something to do with zooming.

Have you tried turning off AA and turning the detail to low? That seems to alleviate the issue a bit for me.

I had this same issue in the beta and evidently it was not resolved. I realize you guys are busy with the server issues, but people with recent hardware and up to date drivers having hard crashes is not a reasonable issue to ignore.

Anyone from Stardock care to comment?

*bump*. No update?

I haven't seen the issue again since turning off AA and all settings to low detail. Having to do that on a game this gorgeous is a total buzzkill, though.

I am having this same problem, extremely frustrating.  I've tried playing with the settings but to no avail.  You CANNOT EVEN CTRL-ALT-DELETE out of the game.  You have to hard reset your PC everytime you try again.  Makes me want to return the game as apposed to tell all my friends to buy it (which I usually do when finding a good game).

Hope this is fixed soon, bad news.

You try cranking down all the video settings to low and turning off AA?

I cranked everything down to low and turned off A.I. I can play the game now. I seems good. It's extremely galling to miss out on the game's good looks though. Especially on powerful machine.
