MODS NOT WORKING

ok i downloaded a couple of mods and put them in the mods folder, when i start the game i go to mods in the options menu enable them, the click apply changes..... it locks the game up.

ive tried updated mods, re-installed the game about 3 times and still goes through the same situation. i bought sins for my old computer, but that computer couldnt run it well, so when i got this computer it plays it really well and id like to add alittle kick to the game by adding some mods,
