Minion Enhancing Items

Minion Enhancing Items

My Questions are:

1-Are they even used? if so, which ones are the best.

2-Considering Vampire Lord has a max of 10 minions and Sedna has a max of 4, when you buy a minion enhancing item, that gives 200 health, by a very primitive way of thinking vampire lord is getting an effective 2000 health for his minion while sedna gets only 800, by that same way of thinking, if night walkers have 400 health and yetis have 1000 health the +200 health will mean an effective 50% increace in nightwalkers health while only a 20% in yetis health, so considering this very simplified logic, either minion enhsncing items are worthless for Sedna and QoT or they give too much of an advantage to Vampire Lord and Oak. So Tell me, Did i simplified it too much? or is it basicly the same?, fell free to correct me if im thinking it way to simple.

first there aren't enough only minion enhancing items arround. second even for a minion build it is more then stupid to not buy any dg enhancing items.

and finally he put this statement here as if you do not need to bother of an erebus minion build if you have a reg anywhere arround that can control the ereb with only snipe. this is bullshit. no matter what specialized situation you want to construct that does not make any sense in the context of the game only rescue this absurd statement.

I dont think reg could control a good minion erebus with just snipe. I mean the ereb could get hurt by someone else then sniped, but thats different.

You're not going to snipe a horn Erebus to death. With just banded mail he has an extra 15HP/sec regen. That's the OTHER reason I loved the horn so much.

Well certainly not kill. But would you really want to stay on the front line with 500-700 hp? It's kinda risky especially if that reg decided he likes heavens wrath.

What's he doing on the front line in the first place?

I have a question for the ones interested in answering it, Do you think Minion Enhancing Items as they are now are unbalanced towards Erebus and Oak? and do you think they should be percentage based?

They certainly favor Erebus and Oak. Making them percentage based would be better for QoT/Sedna. BUT

The way they are balanced right now in regards to Oak/Erebus is a fine line. Right now their minions just barely scale to around level 15 (at which point a minion build becomes completely outclassed, even with the buggy horn). Their peak occurs around level nine. Weaken them and the minions will never be very powerful, even if fully specialized, thus you won't want to specialize in them, making them practically useless as minions.

Another, easier option might just be to increase the number of minions summoned by the Sedna/QoT minion spells. Perhaps summoning three at a time for the base skill, scaling to six for the max, or something along those lines.

I understan what you mean, and i dont want to change items in a way that will eliminate the advantage that oak and erebus have but maybe change them in a way that they benefit every General the same way, because really ive been trying out sednas yetis for some time (mainly in singleplayer cause i dont want to make my team loose by using an unproven build) and they do not messuare up to the standards of erebus and oak.

On a side note, if anyone is willing to help me do some research on sednas yetis, just to see if theres a way in wich they are usefull by playing me online in a 1v1 or 2v2 i would really aprecciate it.

hey man, it's okay take a load off

The concept you seem to be missing about a minion swarm build is the huge cost. No BotF or Duelling skills, Idols instead of items and the need to stay within ear shot of reinforcement battles in order to level.

Now without BotF, and at least Banded to kick the game off Snipe is somewhat effective and with Scaled Helm totally spammable.

The mistake people make with Snipe is shooting at someone with BotF, Banded and/or Priests and expecting to be more effective than a mosquito bite.

A minion swarm General often does not even have the benefit of a nearby priest as they are busy suiciding themselves into towers and like it or not minions all have a relatively high cost to get out, even for Erebus as it is a good two creep waves to replenish the army which is a minute of hanging around the frontline with 3 Snipes worth of health and no cash. Then of course a General basically needs to hang by the front lines anyway in order to level.

Much better is to take Hitpoint and Armor items, BotF and rank I Priests as early as possible. Pick up Bite so you can drive DG's off instead of being driven off the frontline then be patient skilling up minions handling all the tanking of towers yourself.

An Erebus that can Bite, tank a tower, regen and priest heal through Snipes with a relatively powerful dps force in his army is a force to be reckoned with and totally not a MINION SWARM build.

Any non stupid Erebus is going to be able to quickly counter your idea.  All they have to do is not suicide their monks and keep them near.  If they get really desperate, they can spend a small amount of gold to get Banded and be completely safe.

The only way your idea works is if the LE or Oak is stubbornly stupid and refuses to get any armor/HP while being constantly sniped.  But having a strategy that counts on your opponent being really really stupid isnt much of a strategy.
