Crash on Exit

I seem to be getting recent crashes when I either exit Fullscreen GalCiv or Alt-Tab to the desktop. These are full crashes which lock up the computer with no chance of recovery.

Suprisingly, SmartException actually picks this up, but doesn't really give any additional useful information.

Additional information: Sound card is Creative Sound Blaster PCI128. There is the VIA chipset on the Mainboard.

You wouldn't be exiting while there is a bink animation playing, would you? We've noted that in the past.

Most of the time, the crash seem to occurr within a short time of exiting the program normally through the "Quit Game" in the Galciv Menu. I don't get this as much anymore since I've discovered the joys of Windowed mode with the latest version.

Killing the game while Bink is running has a different effect - prevents GalCiv from starting up again until the computer is reset. In some cases, it seems to do collateral damage by preventing the system from shutting down normally.

I'm updating the video card drive now - hopefully that will fix it. I'm also thinking about "Hotwiring" the bink audio DLL to pretend that the animations are done to completion within 0 seconds - I'm finding the Bink player to be less stable than it should be.
