Take a look at G.R.O.S.S. Get Rid Of Slimy alienS You'll see we have some high scorers, but we're not hard core by any means. I only get a game in about once every 3 days. And we do play just for the fun of it. Besides, Only the European-Alliance and Apolyton are truly gigantic empires. The rest, like us are reasonably sized. We're just a bunch that plays when we can, posts, and has fun. Just what you stated you are looking for. We could use another marauder. So you should reconsider your no joining the top 5 stance.

It seems to me that most of the top empires are region related, #5 Midwest Confederation - Midwest USA, #4 ANZAC - Aussies, #3 G.R.O.S.S. - elementary schools across the world ( how else can you explain their name....G.et R.id O.f S.limy alienS.....come on), #2 European Alliance - Europe, and while Apolyton is #1 and not particularily region related, how personal can an empire with 80 members be. So my suggestion would be clearly to go with the Midwest confederation if you are working in the US. I am a member there and on our website there is a great deal of in game strategy discussed that just gets buried here in the galciv forums. Good luck with your perusal of the empires.

Into inverts? If so, consider joining my empire. I tried to get some people from my "home" web board but only managed to drum up one other member (who has never submitted a game :notsure: )

It's a theme empire, and niche one at that. If I can't drum up any interest in it in the next two weeks I'm going to disband it and go join one of those faceless top 10ers.

Yeah, the competition between empires is getting pretty fierce. Still, you can be in a competitive empire without being a competitive kind of guy. On the other hand, as you can see, everybody from all the empires communicate with each other, so if all you want is to have a good time and interact with other players, you don't need to get involved with an empire at all, if you don't want.

(Also, given that the GalCiv empire system rewards empires with more players, you'd expect to receive more notes from the top empires, just because they're likely to have the largest number of active participants...)

Reasons:
1. Inverts are cool and very beautiful. They often appear in my paintings and writings. And I'd love to fight under the spider-banner - which also reminds me of Spider Jerusalem, if anybody knows who that is.
2. I always enjoyed your post and have some sympathy for a fellow programer.
3. I just feel like doing it, and there is no Bobo-empire to join.

Code Monkey -- I'll kindly ask you to refrain from mentioning that aspect of joining a big empire. I'm still in pain from that face-removal process, and although I'm sure losing my face was a bargain price for joining the Mid-Western Confederation, I'd still rather that you wouldn't bring it up.

Actuly MWC, ANZAC, and ... yes G.R.O.S.S, Are pretty smale compared to some of the other top 15 empires, with just 23 member each.

No, I think that is an introvert, which is basically a shy person (opposite of extrovert)

Invert is short for invertebrate, as in tarantulas, centipedes, scorpions, exotic roaches, assassin bugs, millipedes, or whatever other spineless wonder floats your boat.

I'm a life long tarantula keeper with a handful of centipedes, true spiders, and exotic roaches (which do double duty as feeders for the tarantulas and centipedes). http://www.arachnopets.com is a great site on these animals as pets.

It was initially my desire to get a bunch of people from there involved in an empire but apparently C&C Generals was more interesting
