Tired of you and your buddy steam rolling newbs? Tired of people quitting mid game? Tired of not knowing how good your team actually is because you can't remember the last time you had a challenging match, and when you did have a challenging match, the game crashed and you couldn't finish it?

 

DEMIGOD TOURNAMENT

Format: Bracket style tournament, SINGLE elimination.

When: Starts May 21

Prize: Absolutely nothing except the joy of playing matches against skilled people.

2v2 Or 3v3

Submit your team in this format if you are interested:

Team Name

Player 1 (*)

Player 2

Player 3

* denotes contact person for your team 

Accepting 2v2 or 3v3 submissions. Any player can be on multiple teams, but only 1 team for each format.

 

RULES

Matchups are 1 game.

Single Elimination: you lose you go home.

Conquest & Default settings

Matches will be scheduled for 3 days. (For example, if bracket/matchups go up wednesday night, you have, thurs, fri and sat. Results must be in by the end of saturday night) If all matches for the round are completed, next round will be scheduled ahead of time.

Each round will be played on a map.

Map rotation for 2v2 is: Cataract / Prison

Map rotation for 3v3 is: Cataract / Leviathan / Exile

"Home" team will ready up first.

Team contacts will schedule their match with each other. Prefered playing time is EST 6:30pm-1am. But match time up to team contacts.

Screenshot of results screen will serve as proof of win if there are any disputes.

Your team has the right for 1 restart of the match on disconnect or crash, as long as: a- you have proof of crash/disconnect (screenshot) b- you were not losing the game. (if you are winning and the other team drops take a screenshot and you can argue that you were already winning)

I will be final word on any disputes. But there shouldn't really be any.

Favor items are still bugged for many people who are unable to use them. They should be turned off - please list it in your rules.

i agree with this as well but it sucks for people who cant accumulate favor and dont even have enough for even swift anklets

Favor would be unfair due to the fail game. I would like favor because I have some, that being said we shouldn't have favor because it would imbalance the game if one side had a lot and the other didn't.

I'm pretty sure that they fixed the favor problem. The 15+ people that I know who've got the game all have working favor points and prior to the fix almost all of them were bugged with either 0 or unlimited including myself who had 0.

The only limiting factor is if a person takes the time to get the points which really isn't terribly difficult to do. I have no desire to play with favor items off. Might as well limit everyone to choosing mirror heros, or no citadel upgrades, or no potions, etc. because they are just as bad as not having favor items.

i've seen the same, some people have been having problems, they are posted on the forums, but i think the vast majority has the points. i like the strategic choices favor gives as well.

My suggestion, favor if every player doesn't object. If anybody playing doesn't have working favor, don't use favor for that match.

If you had locked favor right now with no points to buy anything you wouldn't be talking this way.

The only limiting factor is if a person takes the time to get the points which really isn't terribly difficult to do.

I have no desire to play with favor items off. Might as well limit everyone to choosing mirror heros, or no citadel upgrades, or no potions, etc. because they are just as bad as not having favor items.

That's beyong illogical. Turning favor on when it's quite clearly broken for a portion of this tournament's participants will result in inconsistency in match settings and undermine the results.

If you have no desire - no one is forcing you to remain.

I don't think I need any sort of advantage from what I've seen of the DG community. I'm looking forward to losing my first game of DG, but if i lose it with favor items disabled it wouldn't mean much then. It would be like playing a game of starcraft and not allowing rush or something stupid like that.

My favor was bugged until the patch where they fixed it and I played every game with favor on and didn't dodge. If you're going to have a tournament you should have it on settings where people can play to their full potential. Limiting one of the major parts of the game that allows players to build a unique strategy is the favor item.

Lets see a screenshot after the recent patch showing it's still bugged. Nobody I know has theirs bugged still and so until proven otherwise I'm going to assume everyone's is fixed, they just don't have enough points to buy EVERYTHING so they want NOTHING to be used.

I have no desire to play noob mode. It's already bad enough that the level of competition is near rock bottom.

I would just like to state that I fully agree with everything KOREAslayer has said in regards to the favor items.
