Monitor issue + "Unable to create direct 3d"

Here is the thing... i can play Demigod just fine on my 19", Samsung Syncmaster 932BW at 1440x900.

The other day, i purchased a 22" Samsung Syncmaster 2232BW Plus (currently set to 1680x1050). Demigod no longer runs, with the "Unable to create direct 3d" error message. i installed the drivers for the new monitor, but to no avail. i can go to the Nvidia control panel, disable the 22" monitor, and play on the 19" just fine...

Intel(R)Pentium(R) D CPU 3.40GHz 3.40GHz,
2.87 GB of RAM (Installed 4, stupid windows)
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

I know lesser computers are having a problem, but lesser monitors run it better?

Problem solved. Went into My Documents > My Games > Gas Powered Games > Demigod > Game.prefs

changed 'primary_adapter' from "1440, 900, 60" (resolution of first monitor), to "1680, 1050, 60" (resolution of new monitor).

Demigod fired right up.

Have you been able to run the game successfully at any point, or are you getting the "unable to create direct3d" on your first attempt at loading the game?

Can you please go to Start->Run(or Start Search in Vista) and type 'dxdiag' and hit enter. Once everything loads, please click the "Save all information" button and attach the output file (called DxDiag.txt) in an email to [email protected].
