Incredibly devestating character comboes

Rape to the face... with teamwork!

Well, I just came out of a match against an Oak and a Rook. Fucking hell. Easily the most incredibly hard combo I've ever had to fight against. Pentinance combined with Rook is a disgustingly powerful combo, and those two knew how to use it. They ended up being over 5 levels over us by the end of the game. The only reason why my team won was on account of some excellent capping on the part of my teammate(also an Erebus)(it was crucible, see where this is going?) and a healthy dose of stalling and spending on mine. Really, pentinence and Rook is incredibly devestating, and surprisingly practical.

Got any wicked combinations that are disgustingly powerful? 4 Reggies or UB is nice and all, but that's just scratching the surface.

TB and Reg have been working out very well for me and my friend ;)

A tower Rook on Crucible. With the Queen of Thorns as an ally. On fortress.

Needless to say, I lost that one.

Erebus and UB on Crucible, Rook has nowhere to go or hide. Needless to say I lost two of those matchups >_<

ANd yeah, Oak and Rook together is a nasty combo Guild.

Regulus and any ensure a pretty clean kill. You run, Reg snipes. You stay, nom nom nom.

Sedna + anyone

QoT + anyone.

Those two above are for obvious reasons: Big heals/bramble shield.

QoT + Torchbearer

:)

One that I have thought up but have not tried. QOT and regulus. qot with ground spike snare, regulus with his snare attack and the favor item that also does a snare. all 3 = you aint going anywhere. qot then uses ground spikes to reduce armor by a ton then lolz auto attack to death. works best with natures wreckoning or the gloves to crit.

2 x UB probably the most powerful combination early game.

Sedna + QoT = unkillable mid game

2 x Regulus at end game is very hard to counter. (both need to be geared to do dps)

Sedna + UB gets my vote for the most devastating combo. Both of these Demigods can have a high move rate, and thus can hold flags while murdering the enemy.

All of their abilities compliment eachother very well. Sedna's movespeed incrases, plus UB's claw debuff, creates a melee team which is almost unkitable. Throw in crazy close damage with Pounce, plus UB's basic attack, and you've got a combo where the enemy just can't escape. And if they do try to run, foul grasp holds them long enough for a few extra hits, or a 1k pounce... If they somehow manage to escape out of melee range, UB's spit will be able to finish them off. Don't forget about Sed's healing auras and heal spell, which works well into any team and keeps them alive. ^^

Sedna + Oak. If one of you gets in trouble you have both shield and heal to save you. You can win the match with very low numbers of kills, but you will likely also have 0 deaths unless you make some poor decisions early on. In a game of 3v3 adding a DG with good stun or slow such as TB, Reg, or Erebus could work nicely as well.

In 2vs2 you imo either need 2 Generals or 1 General + Torchbearer to win vs equally good teams who have 2 Generals. In 3vs3 I think every Demigod has its place in some combos, although there are a few combos I wouldn't do like a QoT, Rook and Regulus Team because that team just lacks speed too much.

Once the player numbers rise, having good nukes becomes more important. I just played a 4v4 where an enemy Erebus had fireball, pounce and penitance cast on him within about 0.1 of a second. He died in an instant and there was very little he could do since we had come from different directions (he was running from the TB/Oak and ambushed by the Sed on Leviathan)

So as far as great combinations go, if you have a team on voice chat then having coordinated nukes is pretty much going to whip anything. A lot of talk is made of having a support character in larger games such as Sed or QoT, but I think there's a case to be made for investing in more damage classes since the support classes are unable to mitigate that kind of damage if it is focused and coordinated.

Oak and UB

Ub + SoF buff + victim's pentience debuff = epic win.

Oak can go support build to stay safe and protect with shield' while taking citidel upgrades and Ub for pure artifact build for max damage.

i like ROOK and Unclean Beast

u boulder roll someone, allowing for beast to get in stun position and you have an automatic guaranteed slam

The best combination I've found isn't really in characters, but in filling up roles. Following the typical RPG model  you need a Tank, Healer, and DPS. So if you take Oak with a focus on armor and HP regen, Sedna with a focus on Armor and Mana, and UB with a focus on speed and damage, and work together on most goals you have an almost unbeatable team.

Oak and sedna. Oak gives mana and health to everyone in the area. Sedna heals and has passive buffs. Pounce and penitance both interupt and cast fast. Oak is slow but strong enough to muscle through most things, while Sedna is fast and can cap flags.

dont know if that really works in DG, as your tank has no way to direct the dmg towards himself.

anyone else have thoughts on this?

Best is definitely Oak and auto-attack Reg. Penitence + maim + MotB = VERY slow DG. Shield on Reg = win.

3 V 3 TB (balanced build leaning to fire) UB and a Oak. Were getting our asses kicked but UB and oak are effecting base campers and defenders which allowed me (TB) to port around the map (cataract) cap portal and 30% reinforcement flag and turn the tide.

We have found this combination when used properly to be very effective. Often switch out TB for Reg...but lose the AoE power that TB brings.

I have seen Erebus and QoT used to great success as well. Separate they were vulnerable but when they worked together they were near unstoppable.

Well, just in my example, Oak has Shield, Sedna is very fast, and UB is also very fast and built for speed. Regardless of who is attacked, Oak is on the front, so he is taking all the damage from creeps and hopefully other Demigods. Combine that with the ability to shield and proper formation of your team, the insane damage that Soul Power provides, and Surge of Faith giving your allies constant movement speed bonuses and taking creeps faster than they can kill your minions.

It is a rare thing to see teamwork on that level but hopefully VoIP will change that.

Unclean Beast + Rook:

Boulder Roll to stun target, letting beast get in close

Beast gets a spit off, and then grabs.

While grabbing, Rook hammerslams.

At level 10, that combo can easily do 3500 damage over the span of about 10 seconds.  Of which the enemy is stunned for 4 of those seconds.

Roles like Tanking and Support are more about positioning than anything else in Demigod.  A good team will keep support and DPS characters out of range of attack until the opponents have committed to attacking the designated tank.  Most opponents, once they've committed, don't have the flexibility to switch focus-fire targets so you will succeed in role-designation 90% of the time if you need to.

If you want to counter this the best way I've found is to focus auto-attacks on the tank until all shields/heals have been cast and are on cooldown and then spike the squishiest support character.  It can be hard to do if support is ranged or cautious, but longterm I think successful 3v3 teams will be the ones who ration their support abilities and smoothly shift targets.

That's what I love about this game. Ask a question like this and look at the answers you get. That's balance.

Pretty much any Demigod pair up is going to be devastating. This is something we as a community need to explore more. Afterall this is what the game is really about....

The potential devastation to be wraught is great with any Demigod combonation.

I played a 4v4 game that was illfated for my team from the start. A Ice TB + Fire TB + Sedna + Oak. vs us, Sedna/UB/Rook/QoT.  To be fair though, later in the game they admitted they were all in Vent so they could coordinate via voice chat.

You just can't beat that coordination with randoms and text.
