Dreamscene issues

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this.  I'm trying to create a Dreamscene from video from my Sony HD SR11 camcorder.  I use both Pinnacle Studio 12 and PowerDirector.  When I create the Mpg file it comes out looking sort of blurry.  I'm creating it in the 1080i format.  When I view the original file from my camcorder on my HD TV or on my laptop with my AVCHD player It looks great.  Is there something I could be doing wrong?  Also when a fast moving object moves by the camera (like a bird or person in the distance) you can see what looks like scan lines.  Any help would be much appreciated.

1080i is interlaced footage, you need to convert to 1080p for use on computers.

muckyman is right,

also if you are using cyberlink power director7, it gives you the option of rich video content and scene detection when importing the video to the timeline, at this point select the option of scene detection (with this your problem should be solved).

Thanks Muckyman and amitsaran,

Do either of you have any idea how to do that with Pinnacle 12?  The preselected options only list up to HD 1080i.  There is a custom option but no way that I can see to go from interlaced to progressive.  In the meantime I'll give it a try with PowerDirector using amitsaran's advice.  And thank you again.  I'm new at this and trying to get some scenes of Walt Disney World on my desktop.

One additional point.  Even though Sony states the SR11 is FULL HD at 1920 x 1080, I believe it's 1080i so I've read.  Is that part of the issue?  Is there a way to convert it to 1080p?

I found a program to deinterlace the video.  Muckyman that was my problem.  My video is 1920 x 1080i.   I used TMPGEnc 4.0 Express to deinterlace the video.  It looks much better now.  Thank you again.

You can also use Adobe After Effects to filter out the noise that interlaced video has. They have a 30 trial of the full version if you do not already own it.

Thanks for the info CarGuy.   I've heard that's a great package.   I need to use something now to do a cross fade or some other effect at the end to make the loop.
