Combination items.

One of the best parts of Dota is the way low items are combined to make powerful ones and i think this should be added to Demigod. Im sure Stardock is sick of hearing about wanting Demigod to be more like Dota, but its not like Dota invented this type of thing. There should be another tab in the artifact shop for items that require lower items to create, or make some of the current artifacts require other similar low level items. This is a great way to free up inventory space.

free up inventory space-sell back the item.

Freeing up inventory wasnt the only point of this suggestion, just a nice perk. I just like the idea of having certain items that require lower level items to buy, even if you only need one item and can then upgrade it to another. It makes some of the really powerful items seem more valuable and allows players to have more of a stretegy when building their demigod.

I think Demigod chose a to have items which don't require recipes to avoid people needing to memorize recipes (perhaps with the idea of making it easier to jump into a game with less experience.) However, Demigod turns out to be a game that is very hard to play with no experience. I think in the end the question is what is more fun? Recipes are fun!

There purposely aren't item recipes. It's better this way, because you don't have to remember a whole slew of recipes. I mean, they could have done something like

Bloodstone Ring $1750

+

Narmoth's Ring Recipe $2250

=

Narmoth's Ring $4000

But instead, they just have Narmoth's Ring $4000. I think it's much better this way.

this is going be kind of a bump, but watever...

anyway this topic came up a few back with a brilliant idea from Innovic a few weeks back.  basic idea is that instead of recipes we have "upgrades" where item build into better items.  best to just have a look.  enjoy

NO COMBINE RECIPES - This instead! (PICTURES OMG) - Also, reduce clutter!

(ps... not my idea, i'm just the messanger)
End of TheScottishAlien's quote

They dont have to complicated recipes, i dont think remembering you need one ring to get the next one is hard to remember, and there shouldnt be nearly as many as Dota. Like borichka said, recipes are fun, it adds a lot more depth to the game if you cant buy some of the best items in the game without the item that you would probably have anyway since its just a cheaper version with lower stats.

Why on earth would we want recipes? Just another reason to have to run around the map building items? Items already sell for what, 80% of their price? It's not like you take on a terrible loss as-is by buying small items first.

Oh god no, in DoTA it was so confusing what items to get and where, I searched forever where I could get the stuff for X recipe
