My idea to discourage DG stacking

Earlier tonight I was playing a 4v4. My team was myself (UB) and 3 regulas. A coordinated three reg strike is brutal, and these guys were slaughtering them. I had a few kills as well, but they were usually assisted with a snipe or two. Needless to say the other team all quit about 10 minutes or so into and it got me thinking about ways to discourage a reg multi-snipe.

My idea is for DG specific citadel upgrades. Maybe even just one that can only be bought once per match but the pre-requisite is having that Demigod in the match. We all choose Demigods that reflect our playstyles and this could be something that represents that while helping the whole team. The only negative I can see, outside of another thing to balance, would be lobby rage at someone choosing the same demigod thus losing out on a possible bonus.

Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there =)

i simply hope doublons won't be allowed in pantheons/skirmitch eventually as they add more heroes

The idea of DG specific upgrades is nice, but channelling people towards a specific playstyle is a failure right off the bat.

All matches need to allow only one Demigod of each type on each side. Doubles across the match is fine, but doubles on the same team can get annoying.

That could work, but I agree with bug.

i think the best idea would be a team-wide cooldown on certain abilities that kick in when it is cast the 3rd time. Having 2 regulus snipes, or 2 UB spits is 'fair' in my books. Having a 3rd is pretty whack as you have obviously just seen.

the system should recognize that if an ability is used twice within the last Xseconds on the SAME target, it is unavailable to be cast on that target for the next Xseconds so that the third person cannot cast it on the now running, screaming, crying torchbearer who is cursing himself for not getting blood of the fallen because his swift anklet is only increasing the ranged damage as he runs.

Seems nasty, and there would need to be some kind of UI feature to indicate when the target is locked for a certain ability, but  I agree something should be done about it.

Alternatively, make it so teams are allowed a maximum of 2 of the same DGs in a match. That's pretty reasonable imo too.

There are other factors that you fail to consider, which balances this out. Alot.

Just give an option for no duplicate heroes in games. If you join a game against a stack team, and decide to stay only to get your asses kicked, you deserve it.

What are the factors?  It's pointless after all to say someone is wrong and then not bother to say why.

It's also pointless to ask for a game change because you cannot counter a particular strategy ;)

I'm just being mean, but this game is all about coming up with strategies and counters of your own, not limiting options or forcing players on a(ny) given path.

Granted it is about coming up with strategys, but sometimes there is a good amount of cheese, such as the regulus team...

I'm with you on that one, I've never seen any reason to try and limit the amount of demigods on a team.  It seems to me for the most part that they are all focused on the same talents and teh same Demigod the lose other options.  But there is the posability that having so many of one time in a game can cause an imbalance that can't be over come.  And remember this game favors the winner as once your team gains a certain level of momentum it just becomes hard and harder for the other team to come back.

I don't think stacking is really a problem.  It takes coordination to make it work and if you've got that coordination, you'd still work better together with other types of DGs.  Triple snipe may be a bitch, but if you run into it, buy lots of health items and have your team push harder.

I agree with the people saying there should only be one of each demigod allowed on each side. The only problem is that theres really not enough Demigods yet for this to be fun, and there will be fighting over who gets who. Once there are about four more Demigods available this will be much better.
