Two Questions - Ships and Governors

Two newbie type of questions.

1. I have a ship in space and set it to sector sweep with auto repeat. Well it moves for a turn our two but soon becomes a ship that I get prompted to move even though it still says sector sweep under the ship. Why does it not just keep moving and moving on its' own?

2. Governors, how do you use them or know if you are using them? What do they really do?

Thanks

1. I don't actually know what sector sweep does! But could it be, that they are awakend, when they have another ship in their range?

2. I thoght that was relatively well described in the manual...
Go to Domestic Policies -> Governors and create your building lists... Note that Mr.Ford is the default Governor and all what you tell him will be built.
To select another Governor go to a planet, klick on "Details" and select another one.
Military Governor is so simple to use that I won't explain it here...

Can't really say anything in regards to sector sweep as I don't ever use it but regarding governors, they basically set up an autobuild queue for each colony. I think the default gov is Ford. Every project you select under the gov screen becomes the priority build project for all colonies uder that governor. However it will not replace the currently building project. Check the colony details screen to verify which gov your colony is under.

Now that all applies to social projects under your gov, its a little different for military projects. The military half of your gov's abilities allows you to coordinate large scale changes in building priorities for your colonies under control of that gov. In other words, if you have a few colonies producing constructors, a few producing other things, you can mass change build orders in the military gov screen. You can choose to have all colonies currently builing constructors now build dreadnaughts or vice versa. A little confusing but handy when you have a handful of colonies and don't want to micromanage.

Sector sweep makes the ship go round and round the edges of the sector, like a patrol (per a post somewhere else). It probably acts like a moving Sentry--keep going in circles until you detect someone, then stop and await orders. If you "spacebar" him (skip movement), I think he'll resume sweeping (I guess that based on other behavior--when my survey ship has auto-survey on, and all anomalies are gone, it will automatically go after any new ones that appear in sensor range).
