Soulbane (Assassin)

Note - I have yet to get myself a version of DG, this is based a lot on my experience with DotA. But it seems like it works in generally the same way.

I enjoy creating heroes and such, so I just had to make one for this game ^_^'

I won't use exact damage and stuff though.

Should be the right forum, but I often make mistakes.  :pout:

Story

In the fourth year of the Hadra clan, under the light of a full moon, Nakar was born. Like all other moonborn, he was promoted to a Shaman, and trained with the grace of the nature. Nakar showed himself as an exceptional child, and was a quick learner. His bond to nature was one of his most amusing abilities, and he could spend all the night talking to the animals, which he would later report to his mom, who found them as cute stories.

As he grew up, the clan earned more and more respect. His mere presence could swing the results of a battle, and no member died under his watch. Even if he would come too late, his healing abilities would give them the chance to see sunset once more. As battles waged, the clan became greater, and the envy of other Shamans with it. Yet again under a full moon, what once started would once again end. Using unknown magic from a book found in a Witch they once defeated, a curse was cast on Nekar. After a few agonizing screams, and surrounded in a black aura, he would flee out of sight, away from life.

When the moon left the sky, Hadra was gone. All the sun could see was the bodies of dead, spread across what once was an oasis, now a wasteland. The village was burning, and no witnesses. The only one who eyed it was a lone Shaman, but his sanity has left him long since.

Appearance

Soulbane's shape has changed a lot over time. His once known human shape is now just a silhouette, where his skin is covered in dark purple fur, and his back severely crooked. The rest of him has gotten traits from wolves. His face covered in teeth, and hands with massive claws, he brings the end to anyone close. Staring into his purple eyes will be your last glimpse of beauty before you’re torn apart, either by fist, maws or a decimating tail swing. And while his size is nothing too much, his agility and ferocity makes up for that easily. He has nothing to care about, no emotions, he is just a furball of insanity.

Abilities

Active

Slash – 10 seconds cooldown

Slashes with your claws twice, each dealing huge damage to target enemy, spread evenly between nearby enemies, and leaving a curse on your primary target increasing damage they take from frenzy. Higher ranks increase its damage.

Bond – 30 seconds cooldown.

Creates a deathbond between enemies or lifelink between friendly units and demigods for 15 seconds.

Deathbond

Splits a percent of all damage between linked units. Also increases all damage dealt to linked units.

Higher ranks increase amount of damage and number of linked units.

Lifelink

Splits a percent of all damage between linked units. Also decreases all damage dealt to linked units. Higher ranks decrease the amount of damage and linked units.

                Chain

Whenever a linked unit dies, it will deal damage to all creatures affected by Deathbond, or heal all units affected by Lifelink.

Drag – 15 seconds cooldown

Drags target Demigod to your location, and it for 2 seconds if it’s unfriendly. Higher ranks increase damage, and slightly reduces cooldown.

Frenzy

When activated, all your attacks will deal additional damage your target, and a percent of the damage dealt to yourself. Higher ranks increase the damage you deal.

            Bloodlust

Frenzy will now heal you instead of causing damage.

Passive

Curse

Soulbane's attacks will leave a lingering curse on his enemies, dealing damage over time and silcening your enemies for a short period after they cast an ability or use an item. Stacks up to 10 times. Higher ranks increase damage and slighty increases duration of the silence.

Fury

Your attacks are infused when attacking demigods, making you unable to deal less than a percent of their health.

Vengeance

Increase all damage you deal equal to a percent of your missing hp. Higher ranks further increase the amount of damage you deal.

If there is anything off, please do tell. I'll try to edit any mistakes I see.

I have tried to create some synergy between the abilities, and have some uniqueness. He might serve a close to same purpose as Unclean Beast, but I still think his playstyle is unique enough. Finding abilities never useed before is hard though, so Fury is currently the only one I have yet to see in a game. Hope I put it in a more readable format and not just a lot of dry facts.

Hope you enjoy ^_^

Alright, so initially, he's reading a lot like the Unclean Beast, in terms of stats. A melee brawler focused on damage and high regen rates, but not too tough. That's a problem, because we don't need another UB.

However, I do really like some of the ideas you've proposed under abilities. I vaguely support the Bond ability, because it has high utility, but it would have to be playtested for balance and exploits. I like abilities with a bit more implication than 'Does X damage to target.'

However, I really like the idea of Drag. It's not something that's currently there in DG. To finish off a Demigod, a team uses a ranged attack, like fireball or snipe. But, I submit that Drag should either do damage, or stun, but not both.

I know. I was trying to create a melee character, but keeping him from being a lot like UB is a problem. One of UB's strengths is his ability to nuke from range with his spit thoug, SB needs to enter melee to do any damage at all. I wasn't aware that UB has a lot of regen but low HP and Mana though, I can easily change on that if needed.

I guess I could make it so Drag only stuns.

Trying to replace the Rage with something a bit more interesting.

Changes:

Grip no longer deals damage.

Healt Regeneration lowered, but Armor increased.

Damage Lowered, but attack speed increased.

Rage has been replaced by another ability.
