Methinks the "Anomalous Score Detector" has subcontracted its job to a cauliflower.

Looks like its related to the version of the game that you submitted. I don't see any other 1.044000 games submitted by other players...only 1.040000.

I was playing with version 1.04.060, which, according to the readme, has bigger scores and more difference between difficulty levels... errr... obviously.

Perhaps its not anomalous...?

I do wish, though, that when the scoring formula in the game is changed, it *immediately* gets retro-applied to the metaverse.

It is certainly version related. I have just submitted my game with 1.04 its score is 7099. After that I downloaded new version and using last save game check the score it was 797749 - roughly 100 times more.

I'm thinking someone misplaced a decimal. More score for a single game than the combined scores than most of the empires seems a teensy bit suspicious.

Methinks I won't download the new update until after I see the response on this issue.

(Wiping tears from eyes...) Really, the chance to participate in this forum has more than paid for the money I paid for the game. LOL

There I was giving myself a good pat on the back for bagging 6800 points from my last game. Clicking on the Metaverse to see if I have regained the dull brownish medal, I get to see this fantastic sight. LOL
This event definitely gets a place in the Galciv community museum if it gets off the ground.

Cateleptic, could it be because you broke the cardinal rule of not upgrading in the midst of an earlier version game? Someone should try starting a 1.044 game to see the scoring for a brand new game.

Amazing. Right after I finished this post, the outrageous score has disappeared from the Metaverse. I feel so privileged to be one of the lucky ones who have witnessed this :)

Sergey guy, he is gaining on me fierce! Down to a
mere 400 points :)

Nearly done with a large maso, bit rocky for awhile
so It wont set any records for the smoothness that
the metaverse seems to love, but was fun and should
still pack a good whooper(tomorrow).

Still amazes me that my tiny that just went perfect, was
almost not even a challange scored so well, yet the tiny
that was an utter bitch to win, scored much poorer.

Seems backwards, and yet, not neccesarly, strange.

No, it's a glitch. Miscommunication between me and some of the upcomign changes to the bonuspak.

In a nutshell, we'll have to go back to 1.04 for the main download but we'll let people download 1.044 also but they'll have to read a pop up or something that lets them know that metaverse scores in 1.044 will be modified on the fly.

I.e. 1.044 scores will be X^.75 power but it won't display that in game.

No worries, Cataleptic. If there is nothing anomalous about your game, you can always resubmit it after the fix is up on Stardock.

Staffa, you want me to trip up my fellow Council Member? LOL

Those Boots of Speed that Sergey has on is really working wonders. The Top spot race should be an interesting one to watch.

I was just thinking that it can only be good for the game that people are having fun on this forum. Went over to the MOO3 forum (first time) to take a look yesterday night. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Just a lot of folks banging their heads on the table over the fact that MOO3 is now effectively free. :)

Don't want to start another MOO3 bashing thread. Just a thought of mine.
