How do you beat QoT shield?

Hey guys,

Instead of ranting and crying about OP and all that, ill just ask a question. So today i was playing a 3v3, we were Reg, Erebus and Sedna (me) and the other team was QoT, Rook and UB. Within the first 5 minutes the rook and Qot pushed through all our towers on the right side, we were playing cataract. QoT would shield him and he would take down the towers, we went 3 on 2 and we werent able to take them down. If we would come they would retreat away from the towers and kill us then go back to destroying the towers. Also the UB would port in to help kill us off quickly then destroy towers and cap flags.

Early lvls we couldnt do anything against the shield and Rook is already very durable, also the QoT would let minions bait the towers before going in. There was literally nothing we could do. Our damage is too low to take out the shield fast enough and by the time we did take it down they would just shield back up right away.

Me (The sedna) and the Erebus couldnt keep the fight up so we asked Reg to help us but his damage was also too low, and i didnt have enough mana to keep even one of us up long enough. withtin the first 3 minutes the entire right side of towers was gone. Needless to say my entire team ragequit and so did I.

So what could we have done against this?

you don't lose automatically just because towers are down on one side.

you could have taken all 3 middle flags and farmed their creeps. in a few minutes your whole team would have outlevelled them dramatically because they just won't get alot of XP while knocking down towers. then, once you've got a 2+ level gap you go and whack them easily.

they beat you because you panicked and played into their plan exactly. it was your belief that losing those towers was fatal that caused you to lose.

That makes sense so ill definately try that next time lol.

Now dont you whiners and QQ'ers see, when you ask, you get answers, and not flames :)

Yeah, tower killing is overrated early in the game anyway.  Its not a very effecient use of time compared to farming and flagging.  Do exactly what the other guy suggested - farm it up, flag it up, and come back at them with a level and war score advantage.

Even if they are capping your side portal, its not a big deal.  The creeps wont do much until they get to catas and they are denying themselves yet more xp and gold by not having creeps to kill.

Also, if you ever fight somebody with a QoT shield.... whoever he/she shields, attack the other person! It doesn't matter if Rook is hitting the towers, if you have the QoT unshielded, make her reshield the rook, then attack; seven seconds of being hit by 3 demigods is more than enough to bring her paltry health down to near nothing (and when she reshields, whe will have to retreat; try to interrupt if she uses a TP or healing potion).

Basically, do what they said, and if you have to fight, ruin the HP of whoever isn't shielded, because you can deal so much that the person will probably retreat.

Early structure killing can give a huge advantage but it's mostly situational.

Fortress match on cruicible is ehere you get a huge advantage in early being able to destroy the fortress at the goldmines.

Caract gives you advantage if you kill the tower near the goldmine and cap flag.

A single demigod fighting in tower cover would be able to fight back 2 DG from destroying that tower early game.  Especially a ranged one like Regulus.  Just get splash damage on towers to help with creeps and stay in their cover.  You will level faster too by not sharing exp with another DG in the lane.  Demigods don't have infinite mana and a tower smacking a DG for 200+ with Regulus hitting for 150+ will tear the shield and it's hp really fast.

You just need to learn better than rushing head first.  Early game is all about control!

Letting the outer towers go down early sometimes helps you with the game.

It gives the other team the false belief that it is okay to venture deeper into your territory, and usually you can double around and trap them easier.

Well it sounds like the game was already lost.

If they have enough power, that 2 of them can hold 3 of you off, then you were likely already outlevelled/out itemed.

Losing those towers in cataract is pretty important as you are always then subject to portal ninjas and you cannot retreat down a side.

The thing is to adjust, if you see them pushing your towers, then go for tower buffs in the cit.

If they are pushing a lane, why aren't you pushing the other lane?

A good tactic, would be for your strongest player to harass the two pushing the tower to buy time. While your other two control a lane or go around capping flags. They will then be drawn off.
