IconPackager (Free)?

IconPackager (Free)?

But I paid for it... an now it's shareware

Yesterday I ran impulse (as usual), and after an small update I saw many updates available... among others, Windows Blinds 7, and IconPackager... but it was listed as IconPackafer (Free).

After installing it... since I was not able to do so under my Windows 7 RC testing machine before, I found it was showing a 30 days trial period (although my Object Descktop subscription is current). So I uninstalled it and used Stardock Central to install IconPackager (version 4.10), now I am getting an update again from Impuse but for IconPackager (Free).

I do not undestand this... if I install the "trial" how do I get it updated to the full version again?

IP 5.01 beta is still there so did you let impulse finish loading,do a reset of data & see what happens

free ip is still showing even after reset data & a manual restart of impulse since it won't do it itself even tho auto restart is ticked normally it would restart..lol..while i'm here deskscapes is showing a free version too,hey at least fences can be downloaded now, that reset is good for someting :p

system is xp pro 32 bit

Edit: ip5 was showing as installed yet ip4 was in add/remove,uninstalled ip4 & did a registry clean rebooted & used restore archive, once finished the free ip showed up again..meh hide app should do it,outa sight outa mind..lol..

Nope... I have already done a reset data & manual restart of impulse but it will not show IP 5 anymore, just IP 4 which of course does not install under Windows 7.

BTW, I already double checked that Show pre-release versions is checked.

If i was in your shoes & i wanted ip5 to show again here's how i'd do it assuming that i hadn't already archived it before things turned to custard,if you have archived it,uninstall ip & use restore archive to install ip5,there's no reason for it not to show up in impulse so long as you used impulse to do the work

i have drive images created before doing anything in registry or any experimentation so with that said

uninstall ip

reboot to safe mode

delete ip folder inside prog files-most probably doesn't make a diff but i do it anyway

use regedit to delete entries for ip = HKEY LOCAL MACHINE & CURRENT USER-software-stardock-objectesktop

reboot to GUI & run ccleaner

start impulse

chances are ip free & ip 4 will show, after installing ip4 while ignoring the ip free & restarting impulse or doing a full reboot, ip5 with any luck will appear in impulse as it would've detected ip4 as installed, run the download & archive for ip5 if it's available, personally i'd then uninstall ip4 & then run restore archive to get ip5 up & hopefuly it will appear as installed in impulse, then again maybe not & you could be up the creek without a boat & a paddle

Don't know if it makes a diff or not perhaps using ccleaner to clear out the caches as well as temp files may help als, other than that maybe someone else has a solution for you to get ip5 back

Definetively this is an Impulse problem... I have just installed it on my work laptop (to install fences there) and it shows IP (as plain IconPackafer) & IP5 just fine, so I think it is impulse which is getting it's config data messed up. Is there a way to completely reset impulse metadata?

There are some issues with the IconPackager beta and saying it needs a registration.  These issues are on our end and are being addressed.
