What is the power of a terrorstar?

What can terrorstars do,and can they move anywhere?

They're mobile starbases with the added ability of obliterating entire star systems and any hapless defending ships. Party Palace Terror Stars are also pretty useful; packing one full of cultural improvements and then taking it on a slowwwwwww tour of the galaxy can net you systems.

Their movement is only 1 parsec/turn, though, and last time I checked this was could not be boosted by other starbases.

You can sort of avoid the terror star speed limit by building them in enemy space (fleeting 5 constructors and parking them in a system rich area ripe for anihillation).

I don't like the fact that terror stars can't attack capital ships in open space.

I dont build them anymore, they are way to slow to
be considered mobile cultural flippers, much faster
to just build another cultural starbase, then wait
for it to move to a new sector.

As for destroying systems, I have never even done that,
what a waste of a good system :)

They are pretty though

I wish there was a sort of anti terror star that created a random star system (at high price, of course) once you get planetary formation or whatever the tech is.

I used Terror Stars a bit when the AI had overwhelming population and defenses (or they really pissed me off and I wanted to wipe out a system... can't wait for the Stellar Converter-like graphics)....

Though since I got the added invasion tactics from the library here, I've been happy with xenomorph invasion (note, there seems to be a Xenomorph tech to research -- but you get the tactic from the start)

Well, if its anything like the deathstar, the terrorstar's power can be revealed at this link:

Thank's but um.. no one ever anwered the question about what does it take to build one?
End of quote

Only a few constructors when you get the prerequisite tech.

There is also a small fee of 5K to install the final component, but it shouldn't be too much of a burden.

I played a lot but I still can't understend how you USE terror star to destroy the system. I did not found any such option in menu and moving the TS on the system does not help either ...

Basically you can only use terrorstars either directly against inhabited stars or indirectly against an enemy empire's sector.

To use the terror star directly, just most your terror star into a star as if you're attacking another ship. The end result is the star goes boom.

To use the terror star indirectly, just sit it somewhere in an enemy empires sector. Sometimes you might need 2 or 3, but what happens, is that the stars in that sector go into revolt and eventually flip over to you.

Hope that helps

To use the terror star indirectly, I believe you need
cultural modules on it.

I dont think that the 'terror' star has any intrinsic
ability to convert colonies.

i like that idea, adding a party palace to a terror star and sending it on a slow cruise :D i never thought of that, i will have to try that.

kinda funny combo, death machine and a party palace, makes me laugh just by thinking of it, sounds like something out of LEXX
