I was in a pantheon game with a german fellow who I didn't understand. I was thinking how nice it would be to have an autotranslate fuction or some pre-set translate commands like "assist me, heal me" etc.
Or just be able to add a note next to yourself in the window when you hit tab that shows if your German or Chinese or whatever.
Hopefully UI mods will enable this kinds of functionality somewere in the future
Having a set of pre-translated things might be nice, but I don't expect it. As for auto-translate... have you actually used one before?
Some pre translated strings wouldn't be difficult to create. Maybe some small overlay which shows the shortcuts for the strings. And when used send some ID to the others.
ID's should be taken from the ingame chat and replaced by a translated message. Thats all
Some pre-set commands would be enough imho.
Everyone speaks english otherwise they shouldn't play online.
Translating (especially if you would make it via voice) could be costly and money is rare 
And much work for little effect.
But some ingame commands would be great and would be a little improvement over dota that's not possible for a simple map

I would rather say, search for servers that speak a language you can understand. And if the user base get's big enough separate channels / options for lobby languages would be nice. It would enable the online gaming experience for a lot more people who are now scared to try, because they don't read / write english.
I think Pantheon should match you in a game with certain requirements. Like ping i have played 1 pantheon game and it was terrible i stuck with some german chick whos ping was over 400 the whole time. Most of us have come to terms with custom games only being in your country. I think they should put some sort of perameters that you can set to filter out like ping / ranking / quit ratio.
