uxtheme patched but no transparancy

So i have patched all the required files in System32. I am able to load the new theme and everything works fine. The only...MAJOR PROBLEM...is that nothing is transparent the way it should be in the theme

can someone please help.

thanks

What lead you here to ask for help?

Windowblinds themes don't work with a patch, they require windowblinds to be installed.

wow

joined up today at a forum dedicated to software that doesn't require you to patch your files, to post a question while leaving out necessary information even a site dedicated to patching would need

wonder if OP got if from one of those sites that want you to use their 'special' patcher

agree with those above, but to answer your question... you need visual styles not found here, try using Windowblinds and then you can use all the windowblind themes offered here.

IT WAS A VISUAL STYLE...NOT A WINDOWBLINDS VISUAL STYLE...

and there still is no transparency...

and it wasnt a "patcher" it was three seperate files.

I think the point was that this site has a focus on WindowBlinds and that you'd get a better Vista experience and nore help if you used WB.

Very few (if any) of us use any non-Stardock skinning engine and are not in a position to help.  Maybe you should try a forum where you got teh files or try WB?

Where did you download whatever it is you got and what exactly is it?

What theme are you trying to use?

What are your computer specs?

Does 'stylexp' even work on Vista?  If you need to patch uxtheme.dll then you are using 'the wrong program'[tm]

Stardock's Windowblinds DOES work on all currently-released Windows Operating Systems.

To use it you will have to UNDO whatever 'patching' you have done that causes you such grief [transparency loss] ....;)
