Let's Get Rid of Carrie

Let's get rid of Carrie.

Can't say I'm surprised.  I bet the pressure Hollywood put on was exceedingly great.

Even the powerful Donald Trump caved.

Yup, I remember attending those "Anti-Carrie Prejean" protests. >_>

Anyways, Prejean is a big girl, and adult who agreed to certain rules, requirements, etc. and now she doesn't want to play by the rules. Sorry, but in the real world if you don't play by the rules you get burned. She refused to listen to her employer (they're essentially her employer), so...she's fired.

I do find this funny:

Prejean also said that Keith Lewis had wanted her to pose semi-nude for Playboy for $140,000 and to star on the reality show "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" but that she had declined both offers.

This even though she has already posed partially nude...??? <_<

From my point of view, they were within their rights to let her go. She was not complying with her duties as Miss California. It's happens though I agree what happened before has as much to do with her getting fired.

I don't know, that doesn't always play out that way. The rules change too much these days and one is always breaking something.

I don't see the big deal. Partially nude? Who hasn't been partially nude? I seriously doubt these competitions could find 10% of the girls the put in these competitions that have not done some type of nudity. Just look at the bikini's they wear in the competition for Christ sakes. To wear those bikini's you gotta be ok with nudity and video and photography.

did you see those pics?  They're being made out to be much more than they are.  Valerie Bertinelli showed more on the cover of People Magazine in her bikini than Carrie did in those pics.

Ya, go to the beach!!!  I agree although I don't think she should have done those photos, (being a Christian) they were tame in comparison to others that are out there.  In fact, if I remember correctly Miss RI had alot more eye opening pictures taken of her that made Carrie's look very tame.  Nothing was said about that, but then Miss RI didn't make such an "offensive" comment either.

I noticed the news yesterday in one of my newspapers here said that Carrie said at the pagent that "gays should not be married."  That's not what she said.  It's funny how they twist things to make them appear as negative as they can when they wish to take someone down.

From my point of view, they were within their rights to let her go
End of quote

were they?  I'm sure Donald will come out with something but so far from what has been said is that she hasn't violated anything in her contract.  The way she found out (from the media) wasn't right either.  I think this is more about her given answer at the pagent than anything.  I mean look at what's going on in California.  They will not take NO for an answer.  The gays are still trying to overturn the rights of the people.....even going to the Supreme Court to do so.  I find that quite troubling.

Charles'.......can you change your language in your posting please?  I find using Christ's name in vain as offensive.....thanks.

See, this is it exactly.

If you make a comment about your beliefs, you should be able to back them up with acts.  Otherwise you are no better than the Pharisees, worshipping in public for attention, but dead inside.

So because she attempts to take the role of "good Christian girl" and make a comment that she knows is going to get her attention, she should understand how her previous not-so-Christian acts are large marks against her.  She appears to be a hypocrite, and simply doing it for the attention.  Did she expect this degree of backlash?  Probably not.  But now, because of said backlash, she is being viewed nearly as a martyr by other Christians, which has gained her alot of popularity.  Though she may no longer be Miss America, she still has all the attention she wanted.  (More than most Miss USA pageant winners, at least that I can remember...)

Yes, it's a very, very, cynical view that I have taken.  However it's hard for me to find a true Christian in all the muck of Hollywood, (which I count a pageant being part of.)  Most that declare their Christianity in Hollywood type situations are doing it more for the attention, than for what they really believe in.

Take... what's her name off... some popular TV show.  (Heidi, and the Hills, I think...)  She is constantly expressing how prayer gets her everything she wants, but seems to completely lack any kind of spirituality what-so-ever.  It's these types of people that further add to the growing dislike of Christians.

KFC, I'm in agreement with you here.  From what I've seen with regards to her so called 'violating her contract' and 'being difficult' is fabricated.  I would like to compare what Keith was asking her to do in comparison to what other states are asking their rep to do.

What I think is happening is the very leftest groups have been outright exposed in their intolerence of other views and now they are trying to cover their tracks making her the scape goat.

Just because she posed semi-nude in the past doesn't warrant the director to pose for playboy!  Could anyone explain to me how posing for Playboy would be beneficial to the organization and Carrie?  This was a direct attack on her Christianity by Keith (imo).

This whole thing smells very fishy!

yes it is.  Considering her pictures were taken a while back and should have no bearing on this situation.  They were not that bad.  At least the ones I saw weren't.  But like I said before, as a Christian, she shouldn't even have done that much.  But I'm not going to judge her because I know that just like it takes time for us to mature and grow in the physical realm so too does it take time for us to mature and grow in the spiritual realm.

I believe, from watching her give her answer (countless times now) that she had no idea what a firestorm this would create.  She had very little time to react to the question and she answered it truthfully.  What has been done to her is shameful.   I mean look at what else is said and done in Hollywood and nothing else gets this much coverage.  Do you think Letterman will get fired for making very rude and offensive comments directed at Sarah Palin's daughter?

I agree AD.  I'm also thinking that something may have gone on behind the scenes where they (as in Donald) didn't fire her right away until they thought the smoke would clear a bit.  He almost seems apologetic in his firing of her.   If they had fired her immediately it wouldn't look very good but if they waited and drummed up some sort of ruse they would get their way in the end.  Basically they wanted to punish Carrie for her answer.  She gave a very anti-PC answer.

One thing's for sure Perez Hilton is overjoyed.  He feels vindicated.  He was a jerk and yet he's the one that comes out ahead?

My son said he just heard the one who replaced Carrie when asked about her opinion about the homosexual marriage said she "didn't have an opinion."   Com'on no opinion?

Isn't that interesting?

All I have heard on the matter is second-hand, so I don't know enough to answer.  Doesn't he have his own show though?  Kind of hard to be fired from your own show...

Actually, it does.  For instance, Tom Cruise and his opinion on post-partum depression, and his scientology.  There have been many other media flurries regarding various beliefs/religions of people in Hollywood.

Yes, but his bosses would be the Executives running the whole CBS programming.  This would be similar to Dan Rather on the nightly news and Rosie O'Donnel getting canned when the big bosses didn't like the controversy surrounding them.

not to this extent.  He didn't get "fired" and it certainly didn't stop him from making movies.  He's still as popular as ever.

They want her to pose so they can say "see she is as bad as we've been telling you". If she does it, she'll fail into the trap.

There is also the possibility that Trump did this to bring more publicity for him?  He seems to thrive on controversy.

Whether or not the claims are true, the deal I have with her on the photos is that she did it before for her modeling career, but then she was told to do them (assuming such is true, which im skeptical) and suddenly cannot. To me, that comes across as extremely...skewed, not to mention fishy; honestly - I think she's lying about that.

what rules?
End of quote

The ones that she agreed to when she signed a contract and was Miss California (and whatever else). As who she is through the whole organization (for lack of a better term), there are expected and defined duties that she must do. It's a job, and when you have a job...then you're supposed to do it. Right?

I don't see the big deal. Partially nude? Who hasn't been partially nude?
End of quote

I'm no prude; the body is something that should be looked at for what it is, a body. The comment, however, wasn't over the nudity, but because of the...say one thing and do another mentality. (Think that's the term I'm looking for)

From my point of view, they were within their rights to let her go. She was not complying with her duties as Miss California.

Exactly, you don't do your job...then you should be fired.

See, I don't think so. I just don't believe there was some big conspiracy like some like to believe.

Granted, things don't always play out that way, but it's what is supposed to happen. Unfortunately our society has accepted breaks of law and rules like they do breathing oxygen.

you didn't answer my question.  You gave me a mealy mouthed answer.   What rules?  What did she break in her contract?  She has no idea and if you read the article from the link I provided you'd see that everything seemed in order as she was fulfilling her duties.  So what rules did she break?

>_>  Sorry, I'm not privilige to her contract; I should consult my lawyer.

I'm assuming, using various abilities and knowledge, that she would have arranged meetings, events, etc. that she would have to follow. That she would essentially have to work for them, her employer. That being said, if you read on FoxNews, they have transcripts from emails where she becomes somewhat cold.

When I saw the title I thought you were still complaining about the Brian DePalma hitpiece on Christianity 30 years later.. Yeah, I think they booted her for espousing a conservative view. Its funny that Trump allowed miss drunken bimbo USA to keep her crown, but stripped Carrie of hers over some fine print, contractual excuse.

much more likely it's about whether she's stopped putting out for trump or whether he's just moving on as always

you really think he wastes any time pondering her opinion on anything?   i started to answer my own question by speculating that's the reason he's wealthy and you're not, but he's not really wealthy either so i guess he's just one of those rare sociopaths who manages to avoid melting down.  to date anyway.

My husband and I watched the apprentice this past season (as well as a friend of ours) and it will be the last time.  We couldn't believe how it ended and how he picked Joan Rivers in the finale.  I thought then that he bowed to the pressure of picking the bigger celebrity and not being his own man.  Even his two kids didn't seem to back him and I saw indication he didn't agree with what Joan and her daughter did the whole show, but when it came down to the last moments and most everyone backed Joan he went with the crowd.

It was quite clear that Joan wasn't the winner and as consistent as the other contestent Annie who was heads and shoulders over Joan.  That is, if you look at this from a objective POV instead of a subjective one.

We lost any "little" respect we had for him and his decisions when we saw that.  It spoke cowardice to me all the way.

I think he's doing something similar here with Carrie after first backing her, he now has backed away from her.  What happened?  I know one thing, there is no tolerance when it comes to the gays and their radical agenda.  If you mess with them in a public manner you're outa here.
