Invalid Cd Key - Sword of the Stars - Argos Naval Yar

I installed. swordof  the stars ulimate yesterday and bought the expansion today. But when I try to launch the expansion it says  'Invalid Cd Key'

Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

What OS?

Did you download & archive and then install from the archive?

Also, what account did you purchase the game on?  I see no registrations under "clownkill"

OS = XP Home

 

I just uninstalled it and redownloaded both and installed both seperatly and now argos ship yard works. But Swords of the stars ultimate collection has disapeared. Which is a bummer as I wanted to play the original game then play the addon in order.

I have a same problem. I bought SOTS Complete and install first Ultimate, then ANY. I could not start a game becourse of missing dll error, it was dbghelp.dll As I found this dll in some folder, I copied it in the SOTS folder adn solve a missing dll problem. In a meanwhile, while researching, I archived SOTS and reinstall it from archive. Now I have invalid cd key error (missing). I tryed to play with registry (copied existing key as in another forum entry) but could'nt solve a problem. Do I have to reinatall complete game, or there is faster way?

no real point playing the game and then the addon, the only difference is that there's a few more techs available and some different ship sections, it doens't alter gameplay dramatically, just allows a few more tactics in combat.
