GalCiv2 onto a new computer

I'm thinking of getting a new computer, but I would just like to check first what is the best way of installing GalCiv 2 onto it when I've already got it installed on this one. Actually, I downloaded and installed it onto my external hard drive, but when I get the new computer I would like to install it on there. Would I need to re-download GalCiv2 onto the new computer, or is there another way to do it?

Thanks,

You should be able to archive it (it's an option when you right click it in Impulse), copy the archive over, and restore it on the new machine. That way you'll get all the registry stuff too so Impulse recognizes it and you can update without reinstalling.

The archive will only work if the operating system on the new PC is the same as the old one. If that is the case, a download and archive operation would need to be done and that will only show up if the game is not already installed. You may be required re-download the game. If this is the case, you may be better off downloading the installer/archive files from Impulse Anywhere http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/Default.aspx

Argh, I didn't see your new post until now, Gargabee - I didn't get a new computer yet. Sorry. :S

I probably won't have the same operating system since I'm now waiting for Windows 7 before buying one. Thank you for the information.
