Whats the best tactic for UB against Sedna?

By far the toughest DG, fast regen and heals.  I have the most trouble against her.  If I'm not ahead a little bit in XP or items, its over.  What are your tactics?

Go ooze build, and stack attack items(like Slayer's Wraps and Mage Slayer). Early-mid game you will probably have a lot of trouble with her, but late game you will eat her.

two strategies work

1) run her out of mana

- requires patience and a hefty mana supply to keep the Spit coming.

2) ambush her and kill with burst damage

- requires good timing and map positioning. make sure you stop her Heal with Foul Grasp

As I prefer Ooze build I have no problems with Sedna.

I love playing as Sedna and having UBs spit on me. Spit does nothing to Sedna. Whereas Ooze is basically a counter to her healing.

The key is to watch for her heal, the tigers paws come together and she starts to bend down. Now have your Foul Grasp ready, as soon as you see the movement hit it and the heal is wasted. You should be able to then finish her off before the next heal refreshes.

Spit helps but you cannot spit and run, you have to engage. Hybrid Ooze + Spit works wonders

the only trick with Spit vs. Sedna is that you can't open with it, as you usually do. wait until after the first heal. then Spit. interrupt the second Heal with Foul Grasp. that should get the kill most of the time.

Sedna's most vulnerable point is her cooldown, as most good sednas will be stacking more mana items than you.

Foul grasp not only interrupts a heal (usually enough to make her retreat), but it doesn't give immunity to stuns.

1v1 she should be able to beat most classes, but 2v2 or 3v3 a chainstun can take her out much easier than other characters.

you just have to outskill them, I usually harass before I engage and things go well

It is tough to harass a sedna with priest minions.  I think the best solution is to attempt to negate a heal with foul grasp.  It is not EASY to do, but it is amazingly effective, doing an additional pseudo damage = to however much she would have healed, + potentially more spit damage.

As has been mentioned, auto attack and Ooze are your best friends against sedna, since she cannot directly counter them. Slayers wraps and max Ooze will help you dish out the damage, and prevent her from returning it well. Crits can also mess up her healing math, sometimes letting you get a kill when she isn't expecting it.

Ultimately though, it all comes down to how well you use foul grasp.  Once you spit + engage, do not immediately foul grasp.  Instead start auto attacking her, and then select foul grasp, but do not USE it on her yet, just make sure your cursor is ready.  As soon as she starts the heal animation (Often recognizeable as 'not the attack animate') grab her.  Disrupting the heal resets the cooldown, in addition to preventing a dispel (heal 3).

SHHHHHH!  I play Sedna, don't tell him all this!  Seriously, there use to be "Sedna is OP" posts everywhere, but if you know how to fight her, Sedna is no match for knowledgeable players.  She has pounce, or she has minions for damage, period.  That leaves her the heal to counter attacks and beat DGs with many more hitpoints.  If you have pots, that counters her pounce; if you have AoE, that counters her minions; and if you can interupt her heals, she and the cat both puff up, hiss, and run home. . .

Straight up, go Ooze.  It will take you time to gain momentum, but Sedna will have to chain Pounce to put a dent in you.  This means you can run her dry on mana and even then she might not be able to keep up with your DPS.  If she just tries to heal and auto attack through the Ooze, she will lose.

As stated, pure ooze, and take out her minions.  With Ooze up you should be able to indefinitely stay in the fight (as long you are stacking HP like a good oozer.)

If you can interrupt heals (hint, turn off the music) you will also make it extremely easy.

Sedna is at her strongest point in the 10-15 range.  After that, artifacts start to come into play, and the damage from auto-attack crits will far outdamage a 1k heal.  Unless you happen to play with a Sedna stupid enough to spend money on armor to mitigate that much damage, at which point you will most likely have a free win.

Sedna is my way of cheering up after UB eats my Reguluses. :)

Until late game, Sedna will beat you. She loses power later in the game when autoattacks deal enough damage to overpower her.

I have to figure our her healing animation to interrupt.  Probably have to close zoom into the battle.  Definately HP and Ooze build is the key after getting my ass whooped by her countless times.  But yah, once late game and have the right gear, can take her down faster then she can heal.  The minions are tough too.

But I love this game, alot of dept, skill and tactics vs each character and player.  Depending map and who we play, build different skills of same character.  I hope it sells well and continues upgrades to the game.

One thing no one mentioned. If you find her to be totaly invincible as in not ever running out of mana it may be that although you did a great job stacking health and regen you neglected your white damage. I did this several times before, my Ooze was killing everything so why do I need white damage I will just make myself invicible with regen/ armor/ and HP. In the teen levels she can reach a healing/ mana regen point where your Ooze and puny AA will not out pace her healing and mana return. At that time you have to beef your AA, time your FG well, or just don't bother trying to kill her. The later works quite well actualy as you can farm creeps and other DG's a lot beter than she can.  Oh and don't bother spitting on her her lv 3 heal wipes it off each time. Last until the high levels and Ooze outshines pretty much every other ability in the game, just don't allow your early match weakness to alow them to pull ahead too much and you take it all back in the endgame.
