Yes GPG is probally working on it. It's VERY VERY HARD to make something that mimics human intelligence without outright cheating through the game mechanics. People are unhappy with the nightmare AI as is because it cheats like crazy and you can still beat it. But they are slowly introducing more AI support through the patches that are coming out.
