Honestly, WTF

How many times does Gaspowered games have to produce a game just short of greatness.  I think this will be the last time I support them or Stardock.  Fix your lame bugs people.  Sometimes it is nice to just sit back and play a local game.  You did put the option in, but rather then even trying to create a halfway decent AI you simply let them cheat.  At level 15, nearly every enemy demigod is moving faster than is possible in the game, does more damage than is possible, and heals faster the Wolverine (and this is only hard level).  Throw in the fact that you introduced a bug with the favor points that makes it so they are no longer persistent that effects both LAN and Local games and you have a big pile of s&#&.  All the fun of the game is gone... thanks for wasting my time and money, I can promise it will never happen again.

Oh... and to add a side note to all your whining about piracy. Welcome to reality.  I sorely wished I torrented this game to see how poorly it would be supported.  I never would of bought it knowing you were going to screw the people who support you by not fixing bugs and balance issues.  I wish many more torrented games in your future.

Anything meaningful you might have had to say was completely erased by this line. The support we've received for this game considering it's age is leagues ahead of any other single company in the industry. If you have issues with the game, discuss them and state them clearly so that they can be corrected. Pathetically pointless threads like this make yourself look stupid and do nothing except waste bandwidth.

Side note: Ignoring the fact that the A.I. cheats at higher difficulty levels being a widely known fact - and intended - the A.I. is infamously bad and can barely be considered a challenge. I play against two Hard A.I.s whenever there aren't any Australian players online and have never lost a game against them.

I could have sworn that Hard AI - top inteligence AI, normal gold, xp, capture rates etc, and Nightmare or whatevermode AI is the cheating one..

Maybe...there's another reason you're losing..

If we all got one new Demigod each time a thread like this was posten...

Remind me again why you are playing a multiplayer game against AI?

I'll start off by saying I apologize for flaming.  It was 2 in the morning and I was just frustrated with the game.  I really think this game could be one of the better games out there, if just a little time were taken to clean up the bugs and balance the game.  However there are a few things I would still like to point out.

This game is poorly supported.  More game companies could learn from Blizzards success.  Yes, now they are a huge company that has the resources to update and balance just about anything, but when they first started they still produced good initial games, and quick patches to resolve balance and play issues.  In other words, they respected their clients.

This last patch for Demigod produced more bugs than it fixed.  To say that this company is "leagues ahead" is incorrect.  I have played many 1 on 2 games against the AI without any issues, try the tournament mode.  By the time you get to game 6 or so the AI might as well have started at level 10.  Rook was able to outrun unclean beast (easily I might add) at level one even though I had boots and favor to increase speed.  Stardock has been successful at producing DRM free games and still make a profit because their games were quality.  If they want to slap their name on any game that is presented to them, their name will be tarnished and they will follow the path of most game companies.  EA is a prime example of what can happen when you stop caring about your clients.  The once giant is now well behind the curve.

As for the comment about the Hard AI not cheating... I would like to see you produce a build of torch bearer that can stand at the enemy crystal and be pounded on by 3 demigods and not die, and eventually run away (for no reason) only losing 10% of his health and able to run faster than sedna or unclean beast.

Common guys...AI is the fun part of the game to program.  Everyone is way too focused on head to head play.  I can remember when deep blue made headlines, AI now a days can hardly add straight.

I could produce a long list of problems such as favor, balance issues, or whatnot, but the company (and the forums) are well aware of them.  So why don't they get fixed?  The last few patches (post network issues) have caused game stibility problems, update/installation issues, and flat out bugs (favor ponts/items lost).  This is not the sign of a quality company.  Charge a premium price, produce a quality product.

Huh? I'm pretty sure that they were patching Starcraft for a number of years after its release. Diablo 2 had (and probably still has) a number of bugs and exploits...

Favor points and items being reset were on purpose when they reset all the stats.  This was not in anyway a "flat out bug".  The only bug with favor items is that it does not save an item as bought when you buy it (but you don't lose the points either).

Also premium price?

Demigod was/is 45% cheaper than other popular games, like Call of Duty WOW.

But I guess the US is spoiled already when it comes to pricing in general :S

Meh? That would be true if you were comparing it to the console versions, but the PC version of Call of Duty is $50, and I'm pretty sure it was the same cost at release. So Demigod's cheaper, but not by 45%, although the retail version of DG also costs $50.

As you could have figured reading my post I'm not from the US.

Prices for games here will be the same in euros as they are in dollars, which at current rates is about a 40% increase alone. That's why the EU gets screwed over and I said the US is spoiled already. Also, the best-sellers tend to be a bit more expensive still, because they sell anyway. I have to admit that the €55 for CoD WOW isn't the cheapest price around, but I got it off probably the most selling internet shop in my country, I guess you could compare it to Amazon.com and the sorts.

With Demigod, it was only $40 (I bought the digital download), which was converted at, at that time, current exchange rates to €29,60-ish if I recall correctly. So yeah, that number flies, for EU users, in this case. I'm sure there are a lot of cases where the difference will be less, but still, it's absurd. It's the reason I hate Steam, they just put the € where the $ was, even if it means a 40% increase in price for the EU!

Ah, well that sucks. Still, the retail version of DG is $50 over here, and the digital version is $40. So from the OP's stand point the game is premium price, or at the very least not 45% cheaper.

Aye, I'm just jealous $40 is premium price over there ;)

Actually, the irony, one of the reasons I bought this game is because of it's low price. Can't go wrong much with games only costing $40. In comparison normal (PC game) prices here are $75 and up in cheap stores. If I would like to buy Rock Band (1), game only no instruments, for my PS3 from an average store I'd have to smack down a whopping $100 dollars.

Ugh, I used to play console games, which are $60. And that's not including tax. In fact, the only reason I haven't bought a console game in awhile is because my Xbox 360 got the red rings like 2 months ago and I haven't bothered sending it in. :S

This tells me that most people are not playing against the AI.  In both local games (at least tournament) and LAN games the favor system is busted.  Not only do you not keep the favor items you purchase during a game, but it does not return the favor points after the match/tournament is done.  The whole favor system is kinda lame anyway.  "Unlockables" is such an old way of rewarding players.  Team Fortress learned this the hard way.  People were unhappy with the large number of hours it took to unlock new items for the Doc and Pyro.  With the more recent characters, now new weapons can just be found by playing the game (i.e. they are just on the ground and take much less time to aquire).  For those people out there who want to be at the top of the game, unlockables are not even a reward... They play to get their name out, not to unlock some new item.

The whole unlocking system seems to be nothing more than a way for companies to lose money.  Those people who unlock everything would of played the game either way, but now people who join in the game months later get wasted by the more powerful unlocked items and lose interest, perhaps not even purchase the game.  Favor should be an all or nothing option.  Why add yet another way to unbalance the game?

I don't want to be rude, however this is a multiplayer centric title. While the offline component is there and will receive attention eventually, I think the issues with the online component have rightly been given the higher priority. I'd recommend making a new thread detailing your exact issue for the developers to address.

This is true; luckily, there's a workaround for it 'til they fix it--

Well it's more a cheat but since I had all favor items unlocked anyway I don't feel bad unlocking them the wrong way to get them back.

Thanks for the link.

Actually the items saving is fixed as of today's patch so just download that now -- I hadn't logged in the game and seen the patch notice 'til after I posted in this topic.

Oh LOL same for me. I don't mind 'earning' all items back either, for me the fun is in the game, not in the reward
