Could we have a city level planet view, sort of like civ 3?

I liked how in Civ 3, you could have a city view thing where you saw all the improvements you had built and stuff. I was wondering if we could have something like this for our planets, so we could visually see our improvements. Also, is there anyway for us to see an invasion happening on the planet, from an above city view? I would love to see tanks and soldiers roll in and blast everything.

Id guess this sort of cool feature will have to wait
for galciv 2. These sort of things are not that easily
added in and require extensive work from graphic artists.

Not the sort of stuff that is added in as a patch or even an
expansion, im afraid.
